I need a new battery for the GSXR but I have been quoted $184,75 for a 9BS and even through work its still $166. Is that expensive? Last battery I got for MissSnipers bike was $35 including charging it
At the moment I have a reason Im not wanting to spend heaps of money, but does anyone have a rough idea on what a sealed battery should cost?

Seems expensive, last one I bought for my previous bike was around $48. Is there something special about your one??

I think its a sealed one. Would it be worthwhile looking at second hand ones
I can't spend too much cause being the only one with a fulltime job in a household of 3 people who struggle, I have to carry alot of bills.

Have a good ring around Sniper, last battery I got (for a 50cc) prices ranged hugely depending on who I called, $50 odd at the most expensive place, $22 at the cheapest. The funny thing is both those places were Battery Town dealers... you'd think the prices would be the same.

Whats a GSXR? Must be some kind of exotic bike that needs a very special battery.

I always use Yuasa branded units in my bikes which are pretty pricy come to think of it.
Last battery I got was an el-cheapo 6v battery from Century over on carlyle st - perhaps if you tell them what battery you have they might suggest an alternative or something or at least give some pricing.

Tis a guy in Hamilton. He couriers them down from Auckland. Im sure it would be no more trouble to courier to your door. I have no idea how it was so cheap. But it was the real thing. Wouldnt bother with anything second hand.

Battery Town are a buying group (maybe a franchise) Anyway, each Battery Town place is independantly owned and they can (and do) set their own prices.

a top quality battery will probably cost that much and will probably last much longer. You should be able to buy a cheaper battery, the last one I brought was for the 92 cb400f2 and it was a good'un costing $120-00.

Try to enquire from barry.lenton@xtra.co.nz. I bought two new batteries from him for my GSXR750 and CBR400RR from him recently and happy with it ~$60 each.

$160 sounds right for a YUASA (also the manufacturer's recommended replacement).

Try Budget Motorcycles on Wilsons Rd (north end off Ferry Rd) if you're in a pinch.
My FXR runs a sealed battery too. For some unknown reason they just do cost heaps more because at the end of the day, they're still a lead acid battery.
Suzuki quoted $120 with three months cover. Brand YUASA.
Budget quoted $60 with twelve months cover. Brand HiVolt.
