Was rebuilding the FULLTEXT indexes after changing the MySQL minimum word length and the post table crashed. Didn't notice until after I got back from the noodle shop. One repair table later and all should be fine. I guess in future I should do maintenance in the small hours.

i actually had to do shit.. ffs..

actually, I did manage to write a bit of applescript so that now every new email I get says who it's from and what the subject is, so i don't have to check the computer all the time I hear Homer say I've got new mail..

Maybe, quite a lot of us are still on here at midnight so 2-3 might work instead of depriving us of our daily KB fix :doctor:

Does that mean you are getting rid of that damn 10 character thing? Hope springs eternal.

Thank you that explains things.
I thought it was Xtra slowing me down to dial up speed because I am about 98% on my user log and I was starting to get a bit emotional about it.
My computer was acting slower than any dial up I have used but didn't think to look on any other site. John.

mine eventually got upgraded..
try restarting/resetting the modem and that should kick the speed up..

just means you can reach your quota quicker ;)

Hey, I got that for my PC as well. It's called....uh....Outlike? Outlook? I think it is Outlook-something.
I even get to see what the email content is :yeah:

Yes they keep sending me expensive looking notification stationary saying I don't have to do anything! :spudwhat:
It looks as if they are not going to do anything either! :slap:
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts they say well xtra's gone one further on that quote. :buggerd: John.

I got that one as well, especially for screaming my name.
It's called....uh.....wifi? wifo? wife?
I think it is Wife.

I don't really open it too often. Eats up too much resources when in use.....

I found the fix for that.. Have to install G.F.v2 and it should help out. If you get errors with Wife, install GaG1. Has varied results..

Deleting Wife application may result in total loss of the system (or at least half of it) due to Alimony virus. You might lose an arm and a leg too...

bugjuice
15th April 2006, 00:31
yeah, good point.. I assume you didn't sign and send away the Pre'N' form that came with 'Wife'? Often Wife can also install a nasty little virus that'll cost, without notice, called 'Kids'.. watch for that one..

Tables, probably routing tables or DNS entries. Basically like an address listing that tells computers where to send shit when people like you want to go and look at hotsecs.com etc
