the new road code

Hi, Just thought I'd mention this, my son sat his learners bike licence yesterday and complained that several of the questions presented in the test weren't actaully in our copy of the motorcycle road code, I only bought the road code 3 weeks ago so I was somewhat confused, it would appear that the road code I bought is a 2002 version and they are still selling it in the shops, the test is based on a more recent version, presumably that has just been recently released, not to worry though the lad passed ok, he just likes to complain!! So at least be aware that when you buy a road code that it may not be the most recent version and the questions in the test may reflect this. cheers L

I found this if you get the Motorcycle Road Code Book only - as they ask questions from the General Road Code which covers situations that are not covered in the Motorcycle Road Code as they are not specifically related to bikes alone.

There was a time the licence test questions were on-line too but I can't say I can find them these days, anyone else got a link for that?

These questions were pertaining to bikes, also not in the roadcode, the questions are pretty much common sense, but how many 16 year olds have any of that eh?

Got to ask how many of us would pass the written test?? I haven't looked at a road code since I got my licences 18 years ago, who know's what's changed.

If the studio audience on that tv test you refer to, Lou was a true cross-sectional represntation of Kiwi drivers then it's little wonder so many close calls are reported in these forums :ar15:
