Any of the ChCh KBs know anyone who owns a:

2003 Ducati 999 Testastretta
Reg : 67 YES

:spudwhat:

I took advantage of the day & a quick fang around the bays, stopped just along the teddington straight and found a fresh 6mth rego laying in the grass.

The rego card is in its sleeve attached to part of what looks like half the number plate frame.

So if anyone knows the owner of the bike, let me know and i'll sort out getting it back to its owner.

I'll check the Ducati Owners Club database (I'm the Secretary) and get back to you if it's one of our members.

Is it just me or do those edges look busted off? Has the bike not crashed and lost it or does it look like another cause?

The bracket has been seperated from the bike fairly violently, but where i found it on the road there weren't any signs of a prang or the likes
(Allendale side of the slight bend halfway along the Teddington straight). To crash along there you'd have to be doing something stupid anyhow.

Saw a 999 go through Little River yesterday when we were parked up. Could always mention it to Casbolts, too. They might know him? (or her??)

T.W.R: there isn't a member with that rego on our DOCNZ database.

Gav, good thought re Casbolts - I was going to suggest that also.

Thanks LB for checking your register to see if it was a member's bike.

I've been in contact with Casbolt's about it and the peanuts there are about as fast as a wet week, they reckon they may know who owns the bike and are going to get in contact with me once this is verified.

Dont hold your breath for Crapsblots to do anything.

if you attend your local post office for 2.25 you can get a name and address printout of the owner of the vehicle. since theyve spent a wedge on a bike they might conceivably be in a stable location and in the phone book.

then

www.whitepages.co.nz

becomes your friend.

Some one didn't quite understand the beginners guide to doing a runner. Your supposed to remove the licence plate!

Sorry, I'm bored. Good work T.W.R for trying to locate the owner. I'd appreciate it if it was mine.

Goto the postshop and explain the situation, i wanted to look up the rego on my new bike to make sure the shop had changed it (they hadn't) and the kind lady there did it for free after a couple of questions (no print out or anything though)

Good on ya!

Bump!

Well Yesterday (now) i delivered the rego back to its owner  and lols he didn't even know it had gone (or so he said lols).

But anyhow mmm what a friggin gorgeous bike :gob: plus the other toy he had  an early 70s Ducati 350 single race bike (Races bears) and thats where the 999 is heading too, after its 5000km service its only carrying 4500 at the moment.
Clever bugger though, he's an automotive engineer, with a home restoration business.

Good finding and for going the extra mile Bill.

Ha funny the mention of wheelies around there because this bloke reckoned he'd popping a few arond the Allendale hill lols, and from how he described how the bracket that held the rego sat on the bike i can sort of understand how it came to get ripped off.

Jimmie mmm had a wee indiscretion along there have we ?
