You,re not welcome on the ride,or the club?.I,ve heard there,s a few there that seem to to be wrapped up in their own self importance, just tell them to get fucked.

HaHa yeh in the club

It all stemmed from when I was at the 'Capitol Knees up' and made a comment in a group of Ulysses (seniour) members when we were discussing getting membership numbers up...... One of the presidents said they think they have sort of reached a saturation point in that age bracket and I said have they thought about maybe lowering the age to 35 with the condition the person can become a conditional member and have NO voting rights and NO right to hold office in any way therefore protecting what Ulysses is "an over 50s group" so no-one younger can 'hijack' the organization..... basically they will have access to the rides and to the magazine subscription.
This friend got all hissy at that comment (which was actually only semi serious on my part also believing Ulysses should be for the 40s upward age group LOL):innocent:

But .... its not that important ... a member here is trying to talk me into joining Manawatu instead LMAO ... she might succeed so alls well.

And yeh ... you have it in ALL groups where there will be a few that think they're more important than others... guess if we looked deep enuf we would find a few here too :gob: ... part of human nature to get the sickle out and try to top:kick: :eyepoke: :ar15: the tall poppies eh

Alls good tho .... Ive got thick skin and even thicker leathers hahahahahahahhaha:nya:

Yeah, i,m in the triumph owners club here in wanganui,i,ve heard that there,s some members who dont like the idea of jap riders joining[not our club but others]but they still take their membership subs, funny that.On our monthly ride if it was,nt for the jap cruisers etc there,d be stuff all showing up on quite a few occasions.

Im the guy whose gas bottle you filled up one sunday morning while we talked about the up coming triumph rally. Was,nt at the rally as such but did do the bbq out at the basin the morning of the ride. The ride this week is up to taranaki i think, wont be on that one, maybe next month.Bruce is leading next months ride i believe,if you can try and get on that one,he does a good job of leading, always looking out for others and making sure they,re comfortable with the pace etc.

I counted about 17, didn,t go myself wimped out because of the weather but went and had a look anyway.Have a good think about the triumph club,as far riding is concerned,in my opinion there is,nt enough,i feel that there should be more riding, socialising, etc but unless all members get of their ass and organise things it just seems to plod along with the usual charity stuff, with rides in between.

I agree 100% with that,if it was,nt for those two there would,nt be a club. The money thats raised for different causes is awesome and raising the profile of the club is also a good thing,it,s become a well respected club here in wanganui, shit, even one of the local cops has bought a triumph and rides with us.

haha, yeh. the ride you were cooking at, they gave the cop a sticker that he stuck on the back window of his cop car! LOL. i like how the police work with the club to keep participants safe...just sucked on the rally ride when impatient cagers butted in and broke up the club....thats what i blame for a number of us missing the turn to basin reserve.....cos we lost sight of the people in front. was lucky....another guy had stopped by the turn and was looking lost....so i stopped and we just waited till a guide showed up.

im aiming to get next months ride...was told bruce is leading it. i agree, there should be more riding, but if there was, id likely be stuck working anyways! LOL. you guys doing a charity run this year? if so, let me know when and ill get time off. was on last years, and also the one in 03....rode with grant from HOG on his buell.

As far as i know there,s a charity ride, more than likely around august and i think it,s back up to alton pub although dont quote me on that.I heard about the group missing turns etc on the rally ride but didnt know what the cause was, bloody typical. The cop that day is the guy who rides with us,he,s not a bad guy, he,s just bought a new speedmaster, very nice machine indeed. If i work it right i,ll have my new bike at the end of next month,i ordered a new 1400 boulevard which arrived at phil turnbulls last week.Went down yesterday to have a look,it,s the red model which we dont often get in NZ.the thing i like with this type of cruiser is that they paint the frame the same as the tank and side covers, very nice, even better now that my wife and i have a bike each.Might catch you on the next ride.Cheers.

turnbulls ok to deal with? i went through whitelock and will never deal with them again. got excuses as to why the bike wasnt there yet [got sent to the wrong dealer???] then the speedo went and took em 5 weeks to get that sorted. [its coming from the sth island....its in a container and they dont have time to look for such a small part etc etc]
just got the bike back from a service, and there was crap all over the tank, mirror, bars, etc [am assuming its brake fluid] and oily stuff all over my topbox, the lock area, which they have no reason to go near. plus to top it off the bike was outside the shop and unlocked for who knows how long.

where abouts is alton? out upuk? will keep an ear out for the ride and put some money aside for it....to donate and also bid if they have an auction like last time.
yeh, there was a quite a large bunch went up the wrong way....there was no fluro there and there wasnt one at marton either, at the roundabout. i was following mickey [rides the steed, shes thinking of joining too] lucky she indicated otherwise me and the rest of the group with us would have got lost too. she indicated, i did the same and luckily everyone else followed!

boulevard not a bad looking bike, but im a harley girl at heart [though the indians aint bad either! LOL] will keep an eye out for a red one...had a new one in today....didnt look at the plate so cant say what the letter was, but had a triumph in with first letter "Y" and only about 3000k.

If you want good service then go to joe lett.Murray and pete do awesome work on the mechanical side and the service in the parts department is the same. They can order anything you need no problem. There,s a few of us that go there and we find the more you use their service the better it gets although there,s not much room for improvement,it,s pretty good.Alton is the first charity run the club did when youwent on the buell up past patea.I thought mickey was a member, shows how much i know, she was at the bbq i put on for the club that day i was talking to you, quite a hard case.Yeah,i like the boulevard, it,s just the same as my 1400 intruder but without the sissybar and has t bars instead of buckhorns everything else is identical.:scooter:

think shes considering it like me. dunno whether she will join or not. shes ok in small doses, lmfao.

ok gotcha...alton is in shannon? sounds good, id be up for that ride again at any time!

had a coupla boulevards in today.....nice bikes, nice and low but quite a wide seat. will likely be going to joe letts for the service next time round....the mess all over it from the last one really pissed me off. intruders aint bad either. lol. think one day when i can afford ill either invest in a harley or one of the new indians [2003?] cos they are quite nice.
