Maybe check to see if your wiring from the back of the console is getting earthed properly. A poor earth will make a light shine weakly.

I think you might find some answers in the service manual here

http://rapidshare.de/files/10405403/GN250.zip.html

I don't have the manual on me currently, it is boxed up and in dunedin
Good luck

Damn it
I downloaded it, what you need is on page 5-12 but the diagram hasn't come out

I'll go manual hunting. I could drop it around or photograph it and reupload it.. but I am pretty sure the paper copy is in dunedin

EDIT: Calling on MsM ... please give her lots of rep for this :-P

ive got an 05 ginny as well....and the same thing happened basically the second she got home! ran for the first 1000k with no neutral....turned out the bulb had gone....so yes, they have bulbs [according to the mechanic!] its fixed now, but was annoying without as i couldnt get her into gear and wound up jerking and stalling her.
