Got rid of my old nail and picked up a K6 600. First off it appears that Mr Suzuki has developed very much a track focussed bike. More power comes in later than the K4/K5 model. This is at the expense of a bit of midrange but holy hell when the donk is spinning it pulls like choirboy. It is unbelievably fast for a 600. Weight is the same but distributed lower and as such it feels about 10kg lighter. Suspension is firmer than the old one and has high/low speed dampening adjustment. Together the weight and suspenders has vastly improved the bikes handling. It'll go around corners without so much as a thought. Even when eating a pie while doing the suduko puzzle aye Poo! The exhaust note is OK, not too loud or quiet, but the induction roar is loud as fuck. It sounds like its going to suck wildlife out of the trees. Finish is alot better with a hugger and undertray as standard. Plastics are still a little cheap though so no doubt it'll chip like fuck after a few Kms.
This bike is a giant evolution from the old one. Damn if I had the moolah I'd buy two of em. And to think some folk thought I was going to get a Duke!
See you all at the track.

Harder to wheelie than the old one, but it'll stand up alright, just have to abuse the clutch a bit more.

It's got serious features and great contingency support from Suzuki, and is well supported by the aftermarket and shares DNA with two other Suzuki models, making bodywork and other parts easier to find used. Nice choice JImbo - was just reading the review in Two Wheels this morning, and my first thought was, "I wonder if Jimbo will get the 600 or the 750?"

Sweet buy!
Was at Dave Andersons this morning getting my bike serviced. I thought that 600 sitting there looked familiar. i figured pretty quickly that Jimbo had rolled out something decent from the Suzuki dealer.
I did have to check what you brought with the sales team though, coz those 1800cc suzuki boulevard cruisers had arrived into stock yesterday too.
Congrats on the new ride Jimbo.

Has he got a camera.. or two?
He's got to run it in, so here's everyone's chance to beat him in the twisties. This is a limited time offer.

No, given the learn is when you show folk how its done on the roads without cars everywhere, much like what we did to you around Gladstone etc. Passing cars around the outside on blind corners with cars coming the other way is not giving folk the learn, its pissing cars drivers off on our roads so they complain to the cops and ruin our fun.

Just removed them. If I carry a pillion they have to have their legs akimbo. Little 600 aren't made for pillions. turns the handling and performance to shit.

Well I go scratching over the hill every Sunday. I go touring once every couple of years. Guess logic dictated I get the 600. Plus its cheap, fast, and like McDonalds not the most gourmet of bikes but you know what your getting and it always satisfies.

Agree. A new 600 vs an old 1000 for the same dosh... tough choice.
About time you tried a different colour Jimbo!
You hit the jackpot with that red and black. I've seen the latest mag pics of ... wait for it... yet again, blue and white Gixsers and also the all black, but none in reb/black. Bloody brilliant looking in that combo. You must be rapted. Look forward to seeing it in motion, full tit :scooter: all the way up to 100kph.

That's the spirit, just step a bit further out of the closet each time. Everyone loves Hondas - some just don't know it yet.

Whhooaaahooo,
They only bring the 750 K6 in on preorder only no?
Where did you get it and how much? The only have POA at Colemans Auckland.
Please write a review for us on it would ya?
Many journos reckon the 750 is very track focussed but is a perfect bike all around where the 1000 can't be used to it's full potential on road, but the 750 can be, with more punch out of the corners than the 600.
be interested to know what you think of it mate. :0

Many journos reckon the 750 is very track focussedRag I read said the opposite. The 750K6 motor isn't for the track anymore, since there is no race class it fits into. So this let Suzuki build an engine for humans, not for race tuning. But that this was a good thing in the real world, and we should all rejoice :) :) :).
And, the 600K6 and the 750K6 look really really cool. And that has to be worth at least a slightly bigger smile every time one wheels it out of the shed.
Oh yeah, like he said.. pictures please.. So I can die of envy.
