Turned up at Taupo on Saturday had a look at theweather it was wicked weather went to bed woke up Sunday morning and it was pissing down:doh:

SO we head off to the track un-load the gear chuck the tire warmers on the bikes and the generator pegged out:oi-grr:
NOT A GOOD START!!

First practice went out practiced a few launches out pit lane and went onto the circuit only to get half way around the circuit and cruise back to pit lane because I was running to cold dad was stopping me and my brother any way to throw our wets on, So I pulled in and helped throw the bikes on the stands and let dad change the rims,

Practice 2

I was hoping for a bit of an improvement in this session and get some data and track knowledge I was improving in this passing a few 150 ss and getting good draughts down that long straight from them needed to improve my brake points but was so wet I wasnt keen to wash the front end the cheqered flag came out andI pulled in

got some data? Do you have some sort of recorder on your bike? Or just stats that your old man wrote down?

Yip, certainly helps me paint a mental picture of the track. Must be great being able to draft 150's on your RS125 too!!

Did you not get out in the dry sessions later in the day, thought i saw you coz i recognised Sudeeps old bike, would've come over to say hi, but me and Dss3 had our hands full with our own bikes, our tyre wamers were playing up and the laptop gave up the ghost when daryl knock a double brown over it that made pulling data and changing our feul maps to suit the conditions very hard, someone theifed our wets and our tent and deck chairs as well, couldn't bloody believe it, the one thing they didn't get was our pride though. so me Dazza and Rob had to huddle under a bit of ply wood for shelter.

Yea my report thingee went something like woke up to bacon and eggs, thanks Daryl me bitch, went to the track raining an all sorts of shit, because of the unfortunate incidents me and Daryl were stuck on slicksm he went out and came back in, i went out and came back in, it was just wasting gas riding round on slicks, came upto and F2 session and it was sorta dry after a bit of sweet talk they let us out in that it was still pretty hairy until we got some heat into the tyres, then we came back in and went straight back out for F1 by this time 80% of the track had dried, but you had to be careful of the line you picked, wander off the dry line and things got interesting. That session over and Dss3 was compaining about his clutch a quick fix on the adjustment side, and we were told F1 and 2 would run together for a 30min and the track was bone dry, fuck yeah, so me and Daryl went out with the notion we were gonna race each other, fuck what a laugh, few passes here and there and then the muppet went deep and couldn't pull back the gap, was a good session the only fella to pass me was Sam Smith on his very trick 06 R6, it's the kinda track were the 1000cc have no real advantage over the 600cc (thats my excuse anyway) tried to hang onto Sam, but lost concerntration fo a split second and found myself turning around on the drag strip lol, dick!
Sam was going real nicely he'll get faster there he dipped into 1.42's, by what people were saying me and Dss3 were the next fastest out there, and the quickest 1000cc i felt like i did go quicker than my first time there early in the last session, things were just falling into place nicely, so maybe high 1.43's or low 44's, there was no timing there, but i got 1.45's last time, still few areas i'd like to work on at the track, really need some rearsets, shit was dragging everywhere, but considering both me and Dss3 are on completely stock road bikes, minus muffler and good tyres, i have race fairings though, Dss3's are coming i think we were doing pretty good, there were a lot of other people on much more trick machines than us, with alot more gear and support, so it's encouraging for us going into the Winter Series in prod SBK, we both are looking for top 5 placings in the series, so will see how it goes.

Thanks to VIC for putting on a good show, another very well run day as always guys, bummer about the weather but not much can be done about it.
Good to catch up with a few KB'ers too, sorry i didn't get round to seeing ya all.
Sparky Bills, nice looking duke you had out there, was it a 999 or 749? Stuck behind you for a bit, thinking fuck nice bike, until i thought i'd remind you why you should've brought a GSXR, see you in F1
Saw MotoXXX, Jonboy, Cleve (remember you on the red R6 now, didnt know it was you until now) Nicko, fast as ever mate, should've brought the 1000cc down though, Ross King is a bit of a weapon in the wet, some homo called Dss3, Torque, SVS, man sure i've missed quite a few out, catch you all up at some stage.

Not a bad day at all. The rain was the most annoying part of the day.

Went to riders breifing and could hardly hear a thing. They decided to put the street stock and 125s out first and man it was hairy out there.

I managed to be the first to fall off for the day. Blazing the 150 down the strait and braked too hard and lost the front end. Managed to half ride the bike back to the pits and put on a new clutch leaver and bend the gear leaver back into place.
Went out on the second session, the track was wet but had a lot more grip. This was good for me as i had not realy ridden in the rain much before. Practice trying to ride smoother and get faster lap by lap.

The third session was realy cool. dry lines started to come out and i could start to put the rg through its paces. Its going to be an awsome track when its all dry.

Saw a few of the KBers but didnt have much time to go and talk. Loose Bruce and dss3 were flying. i may have a few pics of you guys, the mrs was taking some in the crows nest by the pit wall.

Haha, shit dude, that paragraph is the funniest thing I have read for ages!!!:killingme :killingme :killingme

Still reckon it was a crack up seeing all these bikes in there nice little tents with warmers while ours sat out in the rain with slicks on and no tyre warmers!... muppets!

As for the track time, went out in the 1st session which was pointless, was first time on slicks and with brand new brake pads, just when we went out it started raining. Fogged up mask just added to it, so did like 3 laps of being passed by everyone, then decided to flag it.

Next time out was with F2, a drying line was emerging but wheel was spinning up everywhere... or so I thought, it was just the clutch slipping from the drags / stuntday at meremere, so I was struggling to keep up with 600's on the straight and was getting pretty pissed off, getting passed on the outside by a SV650 was NOT cool.

Came in and thought that was it for the day... alas apparently you can adjust clutch cables... who would have thought it. So a quick change and a few test blats up and down the road and was ready for the final session on a dry track.

As the stink arse pizza eating wookie Bruce said, we were probably doing quicker laps than last time at Taupo but no proper timed laps. Once the slicks had some temp in them and the brake pads were bedded the bike felt pretty good. Need to unscrew the 'hero blobs' from the bike though, they were scraping a fair bit on a few of the corners which was quite offputting. Was good to have already been on the track and not have to learn it again. Did a few ok laps before loosing concentration and outbraking myself a couple of times into corners. Me and Bruce had a bit of fun passing each other and a few of the slower guys out on the track. Then sorted my shit out and got into a bit of a rhythm pushing a bit more and improving on a few corners before getting knackered. Went out towards the end behind Sam to see what I could learn from him, realised straight away I could brake a lot later in a few places, but was happy he didn't pull away from me. Although the little bugger was probably only cruising. Then it just became a game of synchonised wheelstands on the straights.

All and all pretty glad we did at least get one session in the dry, now looking foward to AMCC this weekend and PMCC the next.

Myself and Bruce will be looking to sort out a few goodies before VMCC winter series now like some spare rims, wets, tyre warmers, fairings for me, remove all the road gears from bikes, some paint jobs and sponsorship, hell maybe even a tent and some deck chairs... cancel that, just seems to pussy.

Catch ya's
Daryl.

Yeah was out in 3rd practice when it was dry but run out of internet time so only did a quick report hence it being so crap

The 3rd practice was good but I was out on wets in the dry aiming for every puddle around the circuit
also my tires were over heating and by the end were just sliding around I came around out of the esses on the old circuit pinned it onto the straight before the sweeper and the tires started to slide.

The Track surface is in good condition except entering onto the long back straight? (dont know what its called back or front?)
The layout was awsome similar to manfield on the new track:msn-wink:
It has some real nice flat out spots then quite hard braking

The pit facilitys are being made also so at the momment they are pretty crap stones every were:no:
My belly pan was filling up with them and had to flick them out so they didnt end up flicking up and through my carb or else I woulda been screwed

I enjoyed the circuit but really like Manfield better probably cause im used to it

Was a shame that there wasnt many 125's there only 5 of us
