thats right fols its on! this saturday 20th may!
Meet at Rimutaka Caltex at 10:30 for a swift departure.
We will be going over the Takas out to Martinborough then out to Tuturumuri, turn round and come back to the Flying Fish for a late lunch.
This is a pretty sweet road in my opinion, just to give you some idea this is where i first scraped my footpegs on the vtz.
Map, route is in red very top/start is Martinborough, south of Tuturumuri is 30kms of gravel which we will NOT BE RIDING but theres a nice long straight at the start of it that i want to play on.
This ride is meant to be at a cruisy speed that everyone will enjoy and being stupid will be frowned upon as we dont want to attract attention but more than likely i'll be being my usuall "im better than all of you" self.
Also this ride WILL go ahead despite the weather unless its raining heavily.
I'll print some copies of the map at work. feel free to ask me for one
And dont worry about gas, i filled the vtz in martinborough went all the way out to white rock and then back to featherston via the east-west access road on a single tank. just make sure you fill up in martin borough

Looks pretty good, but if it is raining I will be a no go. Its not much fun riding with wet nuts...is that a little too explicit?

I think I spotted you 2 heading up as I was coming down. Just before Te Marua, 4:30ish or something?
Slippery as shit it was, I found myself in a bit of a two wheel slide on some greasel/water mix about 3/4 of the way up. Toned it right down after that.

Yeah that'd be about right. I didnt find it too bad going up, it wasnt too wet until we came back down...
I wasnt pillioning him, he was on the black zxr250 behind me.
That was me. Heaps of fun, can't wait to try it in the dry. Always keen to go so just give us a yell if you're heading over there during the week (Uni is "flexible") or Sundays. Always more interesting with other bikes especially those who can teach me a thing or two, cheers Jase.
If the weathers playing ball this weekend we'll do this sat or sunday.

Looks like you guys had a great ride. Damn it, I really wanted to go
honestly phoenix i dont think you could have kept up (not that i could either - i was having alot of trouble) as the bandits top speed is now limited by the "length" of the speedo :shifty:

Sorry dude, I was going Kawasaki speed. Should have allowed for your Suzuki.
Everyone had a fun safe time and no infringements issued/arrests made. That's what counts.
