Arsed off my rf 900 yesterday. Was such a nice morning ,thought Id go for a cruise down st h/way 16 from Wellsford. Had a major brain explosion as soon as Igot out of the gate and went a little bit crazy with the speed thing. Sorta felt like Troy Corser for a while. Woke up pretty quick when I found Iwas going way too fast going into a left hand sweeper. Had to just stand the bike up and hit the anchors big time. Ended up going straight through the corner and up the embankment on the other side of the road. Bike and rider came to rest in some ti tree. Pissed me off. Said goodbye to $1000 worth of fairings as the ti tree branches burst through front of the bike Think Ill take the boat out next time at least itll be cheaper, Question.. Any one know of a good plastic welder??

Geez Bob, of all the bikes to munt the fairings on...
Apparently they look pretty good streetfightered though...
Buckets & Bits have RF900 fairing bits and I saw a guy on trademe with a front-ended RF which didn't have too much damage done to it...
bad luck though...

I got an RF900 underbelly part from Mt Eden Motorcycles before they split off their wrecking section. I think that is now City Motorcycle Spares, 28 Crummer Rd, Grey Lynn, 09-376 9260.
I also saw an RF fairing hanging up in Atomic Bike Wreckers a year or two ago. 65 Barrys Point Rd, Takapuna, 09-486 2342.
Glad to hear only your pride was hurt!

Ouch! Glad you're okay, though. I think this is why it's probably not a good idea to upgrade my old 'F'. It goes pretty quick as is and is better than me, too. Nearly did the same after I became a "returning biker", only it was at the top of the Waiwera hill, heading north, playing with a Porsche. GAve me a bit of a wake up!:zzzz:

Oh Bob! that sux dude, but at least you've taken responsibility for you actions however stupid. We all make mistakes!
I overcooked a Louie once over Whitemans Valley here in Welly. Not as much bike damage but a severely dented ego! I slid in the grass and just got muddy oh and some hedge up my butt. Thats the first time I ever admitted that thanks..... You helped me get over my feer of admitting I was being a complete TARD! Seriously.

They do a good job and give great service. I think someone was doing a special on frame sliders somewhere :blip: just for future reference. There seems to be quite a few who need them on here. :doobey:
Not looking at anyone in particular are we D! :nya:
