I really don't get it. 22 superb sportsmen sprint around a field for 90 minutes and the score is ........................... nil all! And thats a competition?
Its about as bad as cricket where 22 guys play for 5 days and call it a draw - even though each team has scored different run totals.
:argh: :argh: :argh:

Hmmm you might have a point, I always thought socca players were poofs cos they rip their shirts off when they score, but us boxers get into the ring with only their boxers on in the first place :blip: . Better watch out next time I'm in the showers!!!!:blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

Yeah I think it's a bit stupid running around after you score and ripping your shirt off then kissing your team mates. But then the haka makes me embarassed to be kiwi to. I cringe every time it's done before a sporting event....

I think there is a whole new thread in that statement... I think it was way over done at the Commonwealth games and I hate to admit it, but was embarrassed when they do the haka to someone who comes second (or was it third?) in a third rate swim met. Still love the new haka when they do it infront of the poms.

Yeah, I must be a poof since I perfur football over rugby. Kicking other peoples shins is far more gay than hugging each others arses...

Football...
A game played with the feet...
Derived from the term "Association football".
The term "Soccer" can fuck off.

Anyone know where the word soccer came from??
Soccer is an abbreviation for Association Football. The Football Association was formed in London in October 1863 when representatives of eleven clubs and schools met in an attempt to standardize the rules of the game. One of the rules prohibited the carrying of the ball, a rule that would lead to the Rugby-oriented clubs leaving the Association several months later. The name Association Football was coined to distinguish it from Rugby.
By 1889, the abbreviation socca' was in use, and the spelling soccer had made its appearance by 1895.
