They gonna charge him properly? Or make it some wussy driving charge.

Look, they had a hard time as kids, failed at school, and dabble in a fair bit of the old illegal substances- it's hardly THEIR fault - sheesh!

My grandfather did that once,I don't remember him going to court over it.And yes,he had a hard time as a kid, didn't have a chance to fail school...he rolled his own and drank out of flagon jars, but they weren't exactly illegal....

The person was "directionally challenged"...
Think of all the foriegners who migrate to this country and can get confused driving in the right-hand lane of the left-hand side of the road, in this country...
At least speed DIDN'T kill in this instance, or the tax collectors would have had to leave their tax-collecting post and actually DO something towards road safety............................................ ....................

They'd struggle to get home on that. Who did he attempt to kill?
Or was he just reckless in attempting to lose the cops.
Reckless is probably as good as it'll get.

Not a chance I'm afraid. It'll be reckless, probably failing to stop as well and whatever other offences that were disclosed upon arrest, drugs etc in their possession.
I don't think attempted manslaughter is a possible offence. It's a contradiction in terms.

Maybe we had the same granddad, Motu! (Or they went to the same driving school).
Mine didn't go to court either - died shortly afterwards.

Uh, how shortly ?

Yeah I know. It just beggars belief that driving the wrong way down a motorway doesn't automatically earn a serious criminal charge like attempted manslaughter.
I know the speed kills mantra annoys some people but combined velocities in head on accidents are what account for the tremendous damage and carnage caused.
I feel sorry for the poor police person ordered to follow this idiot the wrong way down the motorway. Kudos for bravery in the face of stupidity though.

Is there anyone here who didn't have a grandad like this?
My own grandkids could have made the same claim once! Bring back old New Zealand. :blip:
Old and stupid is more forgiveable than young and stupid - our Grandads weren't always that way.My mother was a bit upset by that episode saying he was once admired for his driving.Actualy at that time he was cast out by the rest of the family and spent most of his time with one of his sons who was also outcast - one day while driving a truck a Mini pulled out in front of me and I felt like running this fool off the road....then I recognised the hedghog haircut....and was even more tempted to biff him into the curb....
But these guys go beyond ingorance....driving on the rims??!! I'm with Spud....what else did they find?
