FP2:
In the second race we saw three rider break into the 1’53’s Nicky Hyaden,Casey Stoner,Marco Melandri and DanI Pedrosa OH so close with a 1’54.001 but he did manage to set the tracks speed record of 309.6kph only to be taken away from him later on my Stoner with a 310.61.Nicky is really after a win as he says its nice to be consistent on the podium finishes (as he has been for a long time) but it would be nice to win a couple. Also Marco Melandri seems to be very happy with his bike and having a good time on one of his favorite tracks.And all the new Australian Kid wants is a podium finish after at Qatar he was so extremely close.We also see The doctor drop all the way to 11th.While Sete Gibernau starts to get the feel of the Ducati and says the new bridgestones are also feeling good.
HOPEFULLY! It doesn’t rain for the FP3 and GP tomorrow which many of the riders say it most likely will

So…..looks like the weather wanted to take part too.With the change in weather there was also a big change in the positions.Ducati Showing how awesome they are battling through the rain as both Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau broke into the 2’09s.Giving Marlboro Ducarti 1 and 2.Chris Vermeulen had better luck this time as he ran into technical problems in the other practice session.Edwards,Stoner and Pedrosa all suffered crashes due to the state of the track.Stoner placed 11th! Big changes I told you :D Time to go watch the motogp QP tis in 5 mins!!

QP:
Wow! That was a awesome qualifying race.For the second time in a row a Australian Rider will have pole position but this time it is the Rizla Suzuki rookies Chris Vermeulen.He held the fastest time for the whole session Nicky Hayden could have taken the pole position on his last lap but he ran wide on the 1st section and showed through his abuse to his motobike that he knew what could have been.Sete Gibernau also steals his team mates 3rd position on his last lap.Rossi the world champion had to settle for 11th position and some other disappointment would include Dani Pedrosa who got 16th! And Marco Melandri who was one of the favorites to win as he won the leg of the MOTOGP last year.Good to see the Suzuki crew finally smiling :D
We wont rule out Rossi at all as we know what he is like…
Race Positions:
1.(pole)Chris Vermeulen Rizla Suzuki 2’04.617
2.Nicky Hayden Repsol Honda 2’04.823
3.Sete Gibernau Marlboro Ducati 2’05.003
4.Loris Capirossi Marlboro Ducati 2’05.540
5.John Hopkins Rizla Suzuki 2’05.700
6.Randy De Puniet Kawasaki Racing 2’06.102
7.Casey Stoner LCR Honda 2’07.277
8.Shinya Nakano Kawasaki Racing 2’07.294
9.Colin Edwards Camel Yamaha 2’07.344
10.Kenny Roberts JR Team Roberts 2’07.345

BREAKING NEWS! Lorenzo Crashed on the 1st lap of the Turkey 250 Championship. Poor kid he was defiantly the fav to win.Also Hector Faubel won the 125s with the mullet boy Alvaro Bautista coming in second after his impressive race in Qatar.

HOPEFULLY its dry for the real race tomorrow. The stunners from the first two practices better pray there hearts out.

~~~~~MotoGP Turkey Race~~~~~
Awesome its about to start in 20 mins and I can telll you now the weather is Dry!! That means a exciting race and it will boost the confidence of riders like Marco Melandri. Also Colin Edwards and DanI Pedrosa after his wet weather crashes. And Nicky Hayden the Kentucky is ready to take that 1st position he has been striving towards since his win in laguna only to be taken away from him many times as he lines up his 7th consecutive podium finish in a row.
Awesome! Star by Chris Vermeulen also john Hopkins.Sete Gibernau was leading for a portion on the 1st lap then Vermeulen gained lead to finish the 1st lap still in his pole position.But Sete Gibernau and Vermeulens Partner John Hopkins take advantage jumping to 1st and 2nd.Marco Melandri comes from nowhere! While we see Rossi Drop back to 14th.The two aussies battle for 3rd position but the Honda kid comes out victories pumping up to 3rd position..Nicky Hayden dropped back but is quickly ripping his way back up.Rossi is still only in 12th.Marco Melandri did come from nowhere to pass Vermeulen to 4th position closely followed by Nicky Hayden who is hot on his tail speak of the devil he now jumps up to 4th. Pedrosa showed us he did not like the wet at all and he is very fast on the dry as he also rips up the position on his Repsol Honda beast.
Back to the top 3.Sete Gibernau is breaking away with Hopkins and Stoner battling it out for 2nd position.Where is Rossi you are most likely thinking well he has jumped up to 10th position he will be the one to watch(like usualy).Marco and Nicky are going at it like mad men while Stoner Skips past Hopkins.*deep breath*……Vermeulen and Hopkins due to be falling back.Nicky has now set his eyes on Stoner as they change from 2nd to 3rd many times.Dani Pedrosa is flying!! Now up into 5th.
3rd place is now owned by Marco Melandri :D while Rossi the magnificent is still in 10th. Marco is determined to win after his memories of last year as he is hot on Gibernaus tail now. And Marco takes the lead!! And Hopkins is down to 11th! Absolutely gutted for Rizla Suzuki after there surge of excitement.
Nicky Haydens trouble is coming from his team mate Dani as his awesome braking gives him a feel of first position only to be ripped back from Marco Melandri the Italian “edgehog”.Hopkins is in bits with fucked tires due to the Suzukis mellow power band. But hold on..*deeps breath*DanI Pedrosa takes the lead! What a machine! And amazingly Gibernau has dropped back to 6th.
Repsol are dominating as they take one and two.But wait! Rossi is burning up the position! He will not win this race but he will get some needed points.But then again there is 8 laps Rossi can do anything (yes even eat his own head). Hopefully Pedrosa hasn’t done a stoner and used all his tires.
The leading group are untouchable now consisting of Pedrosa,Hayden,Menadri and Stoner.
Shit year Marco with the fastest lap as he zoomzzz past Hayden as he drops back to 4th this is anybodys came as Marco just bumps himself up into 1st positon wahoo! Whilst Stoner decides to take 2nd then thinks to himself what the hell I will take 1st as well,thank you very much Mr Melandri. Stoner has learnt from his mistakes at Qatar. Looks like problems for our fav american Nicky Hayden as he drops back.The battle is now between Stoner,Melandri and Pedrosa and I am about to wet my pants…..
1 LAP TO GO!!! And Pedrosa crashed L so its Melandri and Stoner!! Hes closing on the Australian.Wow this is exciting.And the winner is …………………………….Marco Melandri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the second time!
Race results:total times
1.Macro Melandri 41,54.065
2.Casey Stoner +0.200 (Honda Honda Honda)
3.Nicky Hayden +5.458
4.Valentino Rossi +6.209
5.Toni Elias +6.587
6.Loris Capirossi +16.682
7.Chris Vermeulen +16.777
8.Shinya Nakano +21.537
9.Colin Edwards +22.847
10.Makoto Tamada +30.483
This now puts Nicky Hayden up into 1st position in this years motogp world championship and 2nd and 3rd is Loris and Marco.
Nice write up UrbanMyth.
Can't remember the last race to have me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
Big congrats to Melandri, if Rossi isn't the going to win I'd much rather another Italian get it. Also shows just how much the guy has matured as a racer. A couple of seasons a go he'd have choked and done a Pedrosa. Now he's shown he can keep his call and dig down deep refusing to settle for second and take a much needed win.
Also a pat on the back to Hayden. Not a huge fan of his but he's definitely showing himself to be Mr Consistancy (even if there was a bit of luck involved with Pedrosa crashing out on the last lap) with seven straight podiums.
BRING ON SHANGHAI :rockon:
our predictions on Gibby taking the lead but then loosing it were right, shame about the young un dropping it on the last lap, but with the like of him and stoner and rossi showing he has still got it the rest of this year is going to be one great show, cept for gibby of course.
The 125s, where the same Aprilia team took all 3 podium spots. Poor Mika Kallio, KTM doing something stupid with inches to go. The Finns in the crowd in front of me were gutted, understandably.
And the 250s, where there were 4 along side approaching the last few corners, until de Angelis (?, #7) got bumpity bumped onto the grass, still going just as fast as the other 3 still on tarmac, until they turned the corner!
We were all willing Vale on, but the gap to that lead group was just too much, even for the Doctor.
At least the rain held off, unlike Saturday. And that's the report from Istanbul...
Peraonally i reckon the 250cc race was one of teh best i have seen in a long time, that last well last 10 laps were insane. I was really hoping Stoner would come through in the MotoGP would've been great to see he's been a bit under the radar being along side Pedrosa who's been getting most the attention. I think Nicky is going to be strong and consistent this year and in with a real shot of the title, Perdrosa will put in mighty good efforts, but i can't see him challenging for the title this year, Rossi, who knows with him, but he's got it tough this year. But i'm backing Stoner even though he's Honda, but max respect to the man/boy, not even on full factory kit either. :rockon:
And what about that track, that has to be one of the best looking tracks to ride out there, not to mention safe as well, and they think Taupo is in with a shot, hmmmmmm
Suzukis 'mellow' power band destroying the rear tyre? I thought they said 'narrow'.
