I've decided I'm going to Taupo this coming Sunday to the PNCC meeting as there's even more people that I know racing than in the AMCC meet. It's also the new half track which I haven't even seen yet so I wanna have a nosey at it.
Meet Grey St McDonalds @ 8:45am for prompt departure @ 9:00am
Heading my usual way, ie staying away from the Caged Sheep Hell that is SHW 1 - straight down Maungatautari Rd past the dams to Whakamaru then backdoor Taupo.
If anyone from Auckland feels like a ride to watch some racing the last lot left @ 7:30am and made it to met up with us quite comfortably. Map attached if anyone is coming down from Auckland (turn off at Taupiri and go through Gordonton)
Please note that if it's pissing down on Sunday I'm not getting out of bed.

Just watch the section from Mangakino to Poihipi Rd boys, the HP's have been haunting that section of late, particularly on weekends. Had a couple of close calls myself on that section over the last week or three (.....yes, I do occaisionally ride faster than dead slow!).
BTW, if you miss Bryce's Cafe then the cafe at Whakamaru ain't too bad instead.............you can see where my priorities on a ride lie.......

The weather has been absolutely superb here all day and the weather forcast is for more of the same tomorrow.............no promises mind.
Rode thru from Tirau via Arapuni, Mangakino and Whakamaru today. Road is good although some of the shaded areas thru the twisties were still wet at 3:00pm. Some of the spots are "blind" and had the back step out a couple of times so be careful there guys. No HP's tho....bonus.

Never is any down there Trumpy, not until around Mangakino. That's one reason why I like it and never use SHW 1. A total lack of traffic is another reason. And good roads .... etc
