Hi Alex
Yeah I'll just do the sunday ride I think. Need more practice before a race, plus I'm very unfit.....
Where do you want to meet up? I'm in glenfield, so it's a bit of a detour.
Maybe meet up at the new gas station on the motorway up past albany?
cheese
16th May 2006, 12:07
I hope the weather warms up a bit otherwise I'm going to freeze!!!
what time you want to meet Alex?
Hell yeah count me in! That is, if I can get my mate to take me there. We've both got CR125's, I'm 15 and hes 18. We're probably jumping on a track up at Topuni (Kaiwaka) on Saturday, so he might feel to nackered for the Sunday.
If he's not up to it I might be able to twist my dads arm, hes got a XR250 which hes still learning to ride ;)

I had a Good day!
I saw your car Cheese but didnt see you....must have been doing alot of riding.
I think next time have to meet you guys somewhere first as all the bikes look very simular when you are riding around.
I fell off a few times when the front slipped away on the expert loops.
And it was MUDDY!!!
Must have cleaned off a few kilo's of dirt off my bike and onto the driveway!
Good ride for a Good Cause

I fucking loved that ride!!! I'm very sore today though.
I was one of the first there and one of the last to leave!!! I'm just trying to find out of my mate how far we rode as he has a odometer.
I have to say that first expert loop was a cunt! it was all mud bog adn just not fun to go through at all. Especially when Alex (flex) comes past you adn gives it a handfull and covers you in mud!!! Cheers mate!! hahaha
then the other wee trick was instead of the usual expert/novice label, one sais expert/advanced.......... Man I was one of the few that actually made it up that asshole of a hill!! That was some funny shit!
I met up with 2smoke (nice to meet you, thanks for coating me in mud) Flex (he was getting faster and faster with every lap!!) and I think I saw a few of you, but yes we should all meet in one central point next time before making our way there.
Cheers RMCC for a dam good ride!! I'll be at the next one!!

What a mess me and my mate made at the wash world after the ride!!!!!!
we did clean it up after the photos.
the track got faster as the day went on.
Had a few close calls as my bike flew in to the bush a couple of times dragging me in as well.
But what day, cant beat riding a bike no matter what the state of the track is in!

Yeah I got mud all over the driveway from my last trip to onehunga MX track, so I washed it on the grass this time. It took a tad longer using no soap, but it came up pretty well.
hey 2smoke, I think I saw you it was you and your mate right?? Think you were parked next 2 the toilets LOL ;)

Wow what a day! Lots of sweet slippery mud :D . The first Expert Loop section was AWESOME!!! Towards the end we just ended up playing around down the bottom in the really muddy parts and trying to scale the hill at the steepest part right from the bottom (managed it once, but on an attempt the bike fell on me with the exhaust burning a hole through my practicly brand new $280 pants  and a bit of my skin ). I learnt heaps in the really muddy parts and provided you've got good tyres at the right pressure, faster is better!!
On my second loop as i was approaching the intersection for the second Expert loop turn off, as piece of wire got caught around my front brake and then wrapped itself around the wheel. Causing me to stop very quickly leaving me wondering what on earth i did wrong. After that the front end just didnt feel right and was wondering around the ruts as well as the bars been slightly off centre, but im sorting all that out tonight. The day after my fall was quite wierd as the bike wasnt normal, but still had heaps of fun.
I thought that the merging of bikes from the novice to expert loops should have been marked alot more and taped off to help people merge into the flow better because on the expert loop that quickly went down and came back up in the second half was quite dodgy with guys hurtling over the brow very quickly and riders from the expert loop roaring up that great hill climb just as quick. It could have been quite nasty but thankfully it wasnt :).
I also didnt like the parking arrangement with people parking on the side of the driveway and even some parking along the road side. Thank you to the generous KTM rider who helped me get my van out (damn pathetic non LSD lol).
Over all a pretty damn good ride which started out with all the fun of a wet ride but with out the rain  , and the track getting faster and drier during the day :D.
Next ride for me is the Taumranui one this weekend. I also think there is one in Rotorua. The Taumranui ones are always pretty challenging especially if its raining!!

ITs true, its all true, right next to the toliets, i didn't hang around to smell it and report back, i was out on the trails as much as posible.
on the second expert loop,( to the left and up a clay track up the hill ), their was a guy on a ktm going the wrong way coming down the hill!! if i was flying, or out of control as usual, it could have been messy!!
Their is a ride just south west of Dargaville on the sunday of the long weekend im going as i have family in Dargaville.
Check out www.silverbullet.co.nz for the details its a new ride s first time running
