Just dont get cocky on that 600, things could end pretty quickly, unless its a cruiser :blah:

Quick messages are well, quicker to do but they are limited in what you can add like smilies and pictures :)

Welcome aboard. Quick posts are just the txt ones, whereas the other ones put in quotes and smiles and shit like that. Best way to learn is to ride. And if it is a 600 you got, get something smaller, will make it much easier to learn on.

Whenever you put on a message it has to be atleast 10 characters, when you have a message that is less you say that so it adds up to 10 characters.

It's so people don't post one word replies or empty replies. Every reply has to be more than 10 characters.

Hi Mattie!
If you do a search you should be able to find lots of info about getting a licence. Also the road code for motorcycles has most of the info you need.
It probably would be a good idea to start on a smaller bike, even if it is something cheap and a little underpowered that you are going to outgrow in a year or so. And the fines, demerit points etc if you get caught on a 600 on your learners wouldn't be much fun.
There is lots of information on the forums here about different learner bikes.

so what do you guys ride?

I've got a Kawasaki KRR150 - a 150cc two stroke.
It's a great little bike. Especially for someone small like me (5'4").

I recommend a GN250, its the greatest learner bike. Also the best fuel economy, I can get round on $5.50 a week, up to $10 if i went for a ride in the weekend. And you can get an '05 for about $3000, but a '85 is usually just as good. Spare parts are everywhere, and cheap. Top speed is round 120km, but remember it is just a learner bike. And its best to stay on this next bike for at least a year, dont try to upgrade too soon.

What's the fuel economy on the GN250? I get 250km on $14 (96octane)

Welcome Mattie, remember dont feed the Honda riders after midnight OK?? Luck with the bike mate. A GN is a good learner, pretty bulletproof but not exciting.
