Is it ok to have the headlight assembly on the bike without the light bulbs in them? Or will I have to tape up the front?

I think the ruling is for accidents, the smash spreads glass or whatever it is made out of, all over the place.
Don't know for sure, but I would say you have to tape it up.

yes, i would agree, although if you got some of that clear sticky stuff (the stuff you put on your tank to protect the paint), that might legalise it = if the glass breaks, it won't go anywhere cause its stuck down (just like tape, except clear)

Tape is extra weight on the bike that I don't really need :bleh:
Yeah, don't know why I really bothered. I was trying to take the whole assembly out whilst leaving the clear plastic on the fairings, only the assembly is being a bitch and won't release the clear plastic part
Pretty silly question, now lets let this thread die

I know you wanted this thread to die. but did you get it sorted ???
I've got a sh!t load of 4mm clear plastic that you could make a cover and remover the head lights completely.

I left the bulbs out and left the assembly on the bike. I also taped it up just so I don't get hassled. The RG is now ready to race next week :D

Smash em before you go to the track and leave the broken glass on the floor of the shed. Sorted!
