A week or two ago I noticed that the 'pint' smiley showed as a cartoon gsxr, so I PM'ed Spank to let him know. I guess he did something, but now my 'pint' smiley is this...what is going on?

Just checked you login and all the smilies look fine. Try doing a [ctrl]-[f5] on a page the smilie is on.
