View Full Version : Battle of the buckets 2006
dangerous
9th May 2006, 22:32
Bucket Motorcycle Racing Club Inc
A date has been suggested for the 2006 battle of the Buckets, nothing is confirmed, but we are looking at having this event in the morning of 24th Sept on B track Ruapuna.
In the Afternoon the B.E.A.R's club will be running round 5 of the winter series, so Buckets will be welcome aswell, means all day racing.
What we need to know and this is mainly a notice to you lot in the North Island... who would be interested as we need to get a rough idea of numbers to make the event viable and to work out the cost.
The BOB will be practice and 1-2 races with the main event being a 55min enduro.
Bears meet is practice and 3 races.
So speak up... who wants to do this shit

GO EL PRESEDENTAY. Im not worthy.
Sounds awesome. I love the idea of endurance events. But I'm doing streetstock in the North Island, and that's more than I can afford really.
Would the track be available on the Saturday the 23rd and race Bears on Sunday as well? Be more worthwhile for the North Islanders who want to come down if they could get a whiole weekends racing, rather than a morning with a few extra racxes in the afternoon. Just a thought el presidente.....:corn:
PS. What time can you start racing on a Sunday, its later than a Saturday isnt it?

It might be and if people would prefer... however its a cost thing Gav a whole day track hire is not cheap, with doing as sugested above we get to do the BOB in the morning and the BEARs meeting in the arvo... just one set up in the pits not two days and it gives an extra day traveling for those visiting.
Now in order to be able to pay for the track hire/fees/ambo etc we are looking at sharing the track during the BOB with the 150 trainies (not at the same time)... don't worry there will be pleanty of time for us all.
Im not worthy.
Well we all bloody well know that :nya:

Is the Greymouth street race going to happen this year? If so what abot running the BOB on the saturday of Labour weekend and then people have the option to do the greymouth event as well. Could be more attractive to the people that have to cross the ditch

now that IS a good idea.... but i would be interested, my van can fit 3-4 buckets in it....tinted windows mean we could fit a couple of bodies in back and they wouldn't have to pay the ferry man.....

ARRRGH! Choose my 1st wedding aniversary why don'tcha?
[the pitch] So love, instead of spending the sat night before our aniversary at the venue we had our wedding & stay in the same room of the lovely old hotel like I promised. . . how about I take you on a roadtrip to sunny Christchurch, to a windswept racetrack where you won't have anything to do except cheer on a spec in the distance or avoid flying spanners in the pits, with lots of driving either end & to top it off I'll probably want to get on the piss with the lads instead of a romantic dinner.
Hmm. Might have to dress it up a bit.

Car Club has Oked the morning of rd5, but permits, Ambo, Marshels etc all need sorting, also we need numbers, not a lot of interest here so will get the news letter out soon to let the Nelson crew etc know.
P Jones has said he will shear the track with us in the morning, so we will plan on having the 1hr finish soonanuff so as ther will be pleanty of time to get ready for the arvo... expect an early day.
The cost will exceed $1000 so we need to be cearfull
EDIT: just noticed those that have voted for 'yes' I will race... great to see a few outa towners including Aucklanders good shit guys still guttered bout F5 tho... and branco, what bucket do you race?

Cool that your interested, this is only a suggestion so please take it this way. MotoEpuip is just getting off the ground, supply spot prizes for the event and use the money to get your name out to the wider market most of the bucket guys already know you guys are and what your about. take small steps and lots of em. are we able to race in the bears races ( races slotted in between them)?
if not i don't think i will be spending all the hard earned tax payers money just to race for about an hr or so...although it would be fun to watch you go home crying from the beating you'll get:nya:

Hey... don't be so smart chuber chops, Mr Jones is a KB member you know and is on to us :blip:
He just contacted me reguarding F5 (50cc) unfortunatly I dont think there will be time for a seperate class, so a mixed class is looking like it will be.

Sheeesh calm down big guy just a statment of fact not a smart arse comment, it would be good to see as many at BOB as we can muster (only good for the sport!!!!). We can run the two classes togeather and seperate by points as we do with the winter series.

BRMC Battle of the buckets
Looks like things might change, no 150 Street stock but we wil add a F5 class, in which some of the SS boys will join in on.
Whats ya thoughts as we would like to try and please most riders. Time is our main problem, ohh and helpers TonyMc and I could do with bit of a committee to get this shit sorted.
PS: SS boss I know you are watching, so what are you thinking?

For our 11 and 12 year old juniors we have only 9 Formula 5 (50cc) bikes, but by Sept that might grow to twice that. So let's say 12 juniors and another 6 seniors from somewhere else. At 18 you have a good grid.
