Ive made an executive desision and the ride to Sunday, It would be better for all that the front which is coming across the country today and forecast to leave late Saturday is well gone Hope this put anyone of.
I would rather the ride was as safe and as enjoyable as possible, besides I suck in the wet!!!!
Whos up for a ride on saturday leaving from Hamilton 10.30am, as posted on the events calendar??
We tried a two weeks ago with no weather in our favour but hopefully this coming weekend will be a goodin
in brief leaving Hamilton, to KihiKihi to Wharepapa south, to Mangakino, to Bennydale, to Tekuiti, then back up via State 3 or back of Waitomo.
I want to get an idea of numbers and who else knows the ride so the various speed groups has a guide etc. Also to advise the cafes on the route for lunch stops etc....

We meet ? on the Loop ride ? cant recall so many new faces
the roads are Fucken outstanding, Starts longer straights and nice open corners, a few long fast bits then after a bit it tightens up around Wharepapa
With nice smooth close corners a couple of lumpy ones but alot of it was resurfaced 3 months ago around Mangakino, it gets tighter by the Damn then opens up into sweepers joined up with open stretches around Bennydale, The roads are all great bike roads, you will love it. This is one of the most popular rides in the Waikato
the roads are very good condition overall, at least last time I went. the roads are varying throughout so its a exciting ride.
Hope its what youre looking for !!

I checked out the route and it looks good. How many approximate Ks are we talking about from the starting point at Hamilton then back to Hamilton? I vote for back roads all the way.

the round trip from Hamilton is 240 kms, it can be longer if we go around the back of Waitomo and up past Kawhia, it depends on how we vote etc.
Looking at the weather it may be sunday though as the saturday forecast is for the remains of the front coming through but I will post tommorrow night with Decision, the roads are fucken great you will have a greater than great day I promise you. :Punk:

Hi Quasi,
Would love to join you for the ride. Enjoyed the CORO ride and meeting you and the others but family time beckons. Have done the ride to Taupo thru Magakino a few times this year and to Tekuiti Great mix of roads.
Would love to do the Waitomo-Kawhia loop again . Did it about 10 yrs ago and it was brilliant. Maybe join up one day to do Raglan - Kawhia -Waitomo etc. Have a cool Day!!! Rodders (R1)

was great day, weather was primo, roads were primo apart from a few of the really uneven surfuce ones(which i upset the usd forks on the gixxer, have to play with the adjustment a bit i do believe)
pity i had to bugger of early, and not go for the full ride but 30 mins from manakingo to rotovegas and then 30 mins back to tauranga city, just got to work go karts in time. and only saw one cop the whole way just coming out or hamilton at start of ride.
Catch ya all up

Great ride Quasi...I really enjoyed eating Motoracer's( :first: ) dust in our efforts to catch you all at Te Awamutu...There was somethimg for everyone, from long flat out straights and open sweepers to sinfully tight twisties.Even some gravel for that bloody nutter and girlfriend on the XR400 :shit:
Good to meet those I had'nt before and see again, those I met on the Coro loop.
Andy
Had a great day thanks for the ride guys had clocked up 640ks by the time I got back to AK.
Must say that riding back to Ak with a tinted visor at night wasn't so good and it got a bit cold in places :cold: , must harden up.

It was cool to meet Madandy and we did have fun going along at our own pace. However I was still kicking myself for not being able to go up against you guys on thoes roads!
What happened was, when you guys buggered off right in the begining in Hamilton, we got seperated by thoes bloody traffic lights. Me and Andy got left behind and were going around Hamilton to try and figure out how to catch SH3. After stopping at 3 different petrol stations and going around a bit, we were finally on track.

hahah don't worry i was sitting at the back as well, my bike is far to new to push it and damage it, if i brake this one, i won't be allowed to get a new one.
and of course those roads i have not riden on i was taking it easy. roads i know is a different story.
Yeah i though as much, but i didn't know where iw as going either so i had to keep others in sight
