View Full Version : GPS system
Hey folks,
anyone out there know off a GPS system that can be used in NZ on the bike? I need one before June! I got told the Garmin Quest would be here middle of this month and it would do everything I needed but know am told the middle of June (no use!)
It needs to be reasonably waterproof and easy to use... (plus have the NZ maps pre installed)
any help would be just wonderfull
Ta muchly.
I told you about my GPS here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?p=506973#post506973
its a marine capable waterproof version. It doesn't work like a navigation system in that there is no annoying (Jeremy Clarkson's comments) type person telling you where to go, but I do have NZ maps loaded in it and you can follow them visually. You can display any one of a number of pages depending on whether you want to watch the map of watch the numbers like speed, elevation, distance and all that stuff. On the map you can choose how many numbers you display as well but the more of them the smaller thae map space gets. On the trail bike I use a pushbike type handlebar bracket to mount it and on the VFR I use the same bracket I use in the car monted on the top triple clamp.
so you did, I must be having a dumb day asking the question again !
