6000 including shipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn thats good, especially since it is such low kays....... ofcourse there is two mufflers...... its a v-twin...... In NZ you will expect about 3-5 grand for a RGV/NSR/TZR for one in decent condition, so 6 grand is a bargin for one in mint condition.....

ok...between cbr 250 RR and this one, which one is better bike ? what r the main differences...coz he has an option between these 2Well there is a huge difference
The NSR is a 2 stroke to start with i also has abit over 50 hp and is comparable to 400cc four strokes (not an ideal learners bike) very very quick, but high maintaince and costly repairs..... CBR is a extremely reliable bike as well as being quite quick (no where near as quick as the NSR....)
Anything else you want to know????

I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it. And I own a two stroke.
He's gonna ship it from Ireland? And what if it's not all oK? Are you going to ship it back?
My one was in great nick, a quick runner, but upon time to change the piston rings, there were two stuffed barrells.
That would cost about $2000- $2500 to fix if I did it myself. Bear this in mind when buying.
They have ALL been thrashed and will need checking and probably parts replacing like mine did. You don't have to fix them, but the impending siezure will stop you riding.
Just make sure you know exactly what you are buying.
Why not go see Mike in Mt Eden? He's got about three of them in stock that you can examine before buying. And it's not far to go if someting goes wrong.
Will this be a track bike only, or you will have to organise the vin and rego etc. I am told they need to know before the bike hits the country to make it easier. Someone else here will know more that this.
A great bke to ride, but I think you can do better locally, or the zxr you have would be ideal.

Lovely looking bike - I had a 1986 NSR back in 91.
Still have very fond memories of a great handler, with good power (peaky but all two stroke 250's are). It used to be competitive with 89-90 RGV's.
Appearances can be deceiving though - that is bloody low milage for a bike that old.
Personally, I would never buy a bike that I hadn't test ridden - unless vouched for by someone you trust. $6000 is probably a good buy IF that is the correct milage and there are no problems with it.
Bear in mind you need to replace rings every 10,000kms, pistons and rings every 20,000. I did neither on my one and it self destructed at 25,000kms. Exhaust port valves were rooted, barrells stuffed. I ended up slotting a jap import into it for $600.
They are great fun when thrashing, shit for commuting on really. If money was not a consideration, I would have a hotted up 250 just for short thrashes on the twisties. You get pissed off when the big boys fly past on the straights though.
I understand that 250 2 strokes are being phased out due to emission control standards - a mint NSR will be a nice collector's item one day....be nice to have in the "stable"

Steer well clear of it. That is an extremely good looking machine however the mileage for a bike that old is suspect. Also, for that sort of money, I'd expect he could get the later model "trick" one with pro arm and smart card ignition from Japan.
$6000 is a shit load of coin for a bike he'll probably have to spend a heap of cash on if he plans to ride it much. Great to look at though!

never been dropped or crashed, minor scratch on right side fairing.
He's a liar, contradicting himself and trying to overlook details.
But for $6000 (including GST and other taxes) I'd buy that if I hadn't have my Blade.

HONDA NSR MC21
Current bid: $2,850.00

There are 3 other NSRs that are being sold atm, but the auction must of expired, I'd expect to see them re advertised some time in the next 3 days, i've been watching them cycle for the last 3 weeks. seems no one wants dirty 2 stroke NSRs :). A MINT yellow onme went for 1900 bux the other week, looked like a mint bike, repainted and overhauled befopre sale. I thibnk you being totally worked for 6Grand on a NSR from what i ahve seen of the market. Im no exprt on bikes, but have been watching the 2nd hand market very closely lately.
I would have to say, unless you buying froma dealer expect to pay 3-4 for a 250 bike, but it would be MINT with warranty and new tyres, for a 89-91. Your looking to pay sub 3 grand for a mint 250 89-91. I Just missed out on a 91 ZXRr like 10000 kms for $2800 the other week was totally gutted :/

hey rocket...i saw that one too....it has HUGE milegae...44K...
After much bargain he came down to $5000.00...of course then i have to vin and regi it...im adding a pic of that scratch...that's the only scratch according to him...abut the mileage it's true as this bike belongs to his friend and he is a collector....also i was wrong about the location of the bike.....it's actually coming from Japan...i checked his feedback too...it's 100%...
this is what he said --- “ When I said the bike is in MINT condition, it means mint from engine to bodywork. No running problem at all.I am selling this bike for my friend and he is a collector, the milage 2,937 km is original.Bike is located in Japan and will be shipping direct from Japan by boat. It takes around 4 weeks to get to your door. Once payment is confirmed I can arrange shippment right away”.
aslo i will make 1/2 of the payment now and 1/2 once i get it in NZ...humm....what should I do now...

keep in mind if its from ireland--extremely unlikely to be a km/h bike --itll me in miles --so multiply kms by 1.6 aprox also if ya shipping it how easy would it be to wind the milage back. Also dont forget to add $350 to comply the bike for nz roads --and thats if its all in a1 condition

From the picture, it looks like a drop (or worse, a crash).
The brake lever is scratched and squared off, meaning it has been dragged on smooth asphalt. I.e, at best a crash at very low speed, but still a crash.
And as far as I remember, NSR250SP's turn signal is not a flush-mount version such as the one in the picture, but a pod version instead. So, odds are the turn signal was broken in the crash/drop and was replaced.
Looking at this fact, it is possible that:
(1) the clutch/engine cover is scratched, or
(2) if it is ok, it could've been replaced due to damage, or
(3) it IS ok.
It is not so big a trouble, but the thing is that he tried to say "never been crashed/dropped" while there is an obvious damage. Sounds like selling it in a hurry.
But I absolutely looove that colour.

My bike has the exact same damage, due to a previous owner dropping it at VERY low speed.......
As for the flat turn signals, well thats a thing the japs do to rice uop the bikes (read hot up the bikes)
Still seems like a bloody good buy to me....... the good thing is that the head and power valves wont need work for another 18000kms at least......

Low miles could be a bad thing as to run and clear themselves properly the powervalve 2 strokes need to get up to the right temp and the right RPM.(and be cleaned out periodically) If a bike has only been used to ride really short distances alot it will be worse off engine wise than if it had done 4 times the miles but in longer runs. The NSR's are great bikes, make the double R 4 strokes look mule like.

In the worst case - if it arrives being not the bike it was represented as, you've only paid 2500 and you have possesion. You're in a very strong position to renegotiate.

Or you are just $2500 out of pocket.
The glass is half empty.
Well, you've heard both sides of what can go wrong/right, both have good arguments for and against, so; what are you gonna do?
(I think you'd be mad, but whatever turns your wheels......)

Wow this is an old thread....... but... If someone from here had bought this bike they would never have received it...Like someone is going to ship a bike half way across the World to a total stranger, take 1/2 the money up front then the other 1/2 when the bike got here..unfortnately this type of scam is very popular, worse is a lot of people fall for it....the only outcome would have been the out of pocket $2500.The bike was probably sold numerous times...A young guy (US) did the same thing with a TL1000,payed a half deposit oversea's,once the money was sent all communication stopped.
