recieved a new Muffler today from Mt eden Motorcycles for my GT250R sounds great maybe a touch loud to strart off with but once I got used to it I really do like it they do an exchange deal you gove them your standard muffler and they give you back a standard muffler modified internally so it bolts straight on !
All in all I;m happy with the result noise wise can't coment on performance yet only rode around town but will let you know tomorrow
Good price too $250
Thanks MT Eden Motorcycles!!!!!!!!:headbang:

took it for a little blat tonight and can say that there is definately an increase in power top end down low isn't an better but can't say that it has gotten worse either alot of poping off the gass but nothing huge sounds kinda cool I have to admit.
only downside is that around town I thinj abit too loud but a silencer will sort that out I'm making one tomorrow.....

yea not much you can do about that...
I'm going to make a silencer for it which will look standard they shouldn't notice with it being the standard hyosung muffler outside Hopefully!!!!

You can probably just richen the mixture by twiddling screws to reduce the popping.

I have found that on my bikes ,the popping noise when throttling off, is more likely to be caused by small air leaks at any exhaust pipe & muffler joints
I just take them off , fit a new exhaust gasket & poo up the joints with a little muffler putty, fixes the popping/banging noise every time:Punk:

the gasket is definately not leaking made sure I checked that the popping when throttleing off is definately due to the straight through style of the muffler it has too much flow for down low2" - 2 1/4" straight perf with packing was thinking getting the jet kit done may resolve once tweaked properly

Spectrum Motorcycles were telling me they put a muffler on a GTR said there were performance gains and it sounded like a Ducati(not sure wich 1 lol) but cant remember wat was said.
Any weaknesses i should be aware of should buy 1. Other than digital speedo that i will change straight away

Alright very interesting to see there is an actual increase in power by just changing the exhaust 1/4 inch aye?
Isnt the bike like 21 kilowatts and top end speed is 140 km/ph? So what kinda top end speed did you notice mate ?

well I can say that before I had the muffler fitted I have had the bike up to 152Kph and then the night I fitted it did a run not to full red line which I reached 169Kph can't confirm what Rpm I was at as traffic was nearing and I buttoned off,
As for the 1/4 of and Inch increase you have to also allow for the fact it is now free flow and no longer restricted by the internal chamber which on sight was tiny!!! Like get my finger stuck small

Thats quite an increase. Any change in acceleration?

Awesome! Good to see successful mods.
I am surprised that there hasnt been an after market can brought out considering the amount of Hyosungs being sold. Mt Eden have obviously found a niche product they can leverage off. Good on them!

got bored.
Went and got the modded muffler for my gt250r today.. its nice and loud :)
can't go full throttle yet tho as its only done 250km.. i hate run in periods.
Did they charge you for your one? i got mine free with the bike
should organise a gt250r ride sometime?
Also noticed that the digital speedo reads 10km faster than all my friends bikes.. reads 119 when other bikes read 100, and reads 56-57 when other bikes are doin 60k.. weird

not sure if this has been posted yet, but ..with the exhaust popping, you can get rid of most of it, by changing the idle slightly..
Yeah mine gets wicked exhaust popping on the way down thru the gears.. sounds cool tho and its not *BAD* for the bike so meh :innocent: i'll claim ignorance

my Kinetic (which is based on Hyosung :p) with the new exhaust makes madness of popping when the idle is set correctly/incorrectly :D
Anyone got any idea what the idle should optimally be set at? i have it at 2k which is what it came with from mt. eden mc.. tried 1.5k and it sounded a bit sick so i changed it back?

set it to 'how you think it should be'.. i change mine about every 2 days.. i'll have it around 2000rpm, then i'll start it in the cold, and it doesn't like idling like that, so i'll bump it up a bit, and then when it warms up, it'll be sitting just under 3000rpm (which sounds nice with the exhaust) but of course, when the idle is higher, the engine doesn't do the whole 'engine braking' as much..

hmmm.. braking.. that's just reminded me.. I need to get a new front-brake-lever switch, as i was trying to fix mine, and it broke :bye: stupid BMW parts.. :nono:
