typical, after leaving work 2 hours early today so that i could do some maintaniance on my bike before the ride tommorow:

i finish up tensioning the chain, lube it and go for the ride

ride down to bp, pump up my tires - burn my hand on the rear disc - deduce the brake must be stuck part on, take the longish way home :stupid:, get to the top of my hill and my rear brake goes limp. roll home.

pull it of at home - the bolt at the back of the back of the lever that connects it with the "plunger" thingy has gone and the pads are part on and fairly worn, to top it all off the metal loop part of the bracket that goes under the footpeg is cracked in 2 places (already knew this).

Anyone know if tss is open tommorow? and what time? the plan is to meet at 10:30 to go riding  and i really wanna go! (besides the fact that i was the one who organised it)

(personally i think shes shitty at me cos i promised to wash her :()

Sing out if I can be of any help.

yea, i could probably get away with just shoving a bolt in there. but it probably needs somethign done to the brake pads before they wear out.

either way my brother is going past there in the early morn so ive asked him to txt me if he sees any sign of life.

were you planning on riding with us tommorow maximus?

Yeah, I need to go for a ride. Had a SHIT week.

I had to read your description of the problem a few times to get my (fuzzy) head around it. If it's just a bolt missing on the lever assembly, the plunger may be jamming. I'm in Alicetown, the missus is working. Welcome to come round & have a look-see, I think I may have a used set of pads still??

Mate, you don't need a rear brake!! I've been riding without one since 3 weeks after last years Taupo track day :Punk:

I second that, I never use the rear brake anymore...

True for most conditions. Read the post again, the brakes are jammed on, cooking his rotor might not be a good idea if it's avoidable.
