Today is the first time I have seen some real idiotic driving in NZ..

Driving through the city earlier, came up to some lights and proceeded to the front (as you do) Unfortunately a tosser in a commodore decided that he didn't want me going in front of him - he floored it away from the lights trying to undertake and push me into oncoming traffic! I was caught out by this but managed to duck back in front, only for him to tail me while shouting bulls**t out the window everytime we stopped at more lights.

If by any small chance the driver happens to read this - you wouldn't have got any further by getting in front of me - what with all the buses and other traffic...and I hope ya do the same thing to another biker (who isn't as mild mannered as me) who gets off his bike and gives ya a fuc**** headache!

By the way - I'm sure your missus sat next to u wasn't impressed by your macho (little weener) attitude.

last time someone did this too me they chased me and tailgated me, then pulled up along side and spat at me...

Best thing to do when this happens is either keep riding like nothing is wrong and get their numberplate - keep yourself out of harms way of course.

OR

Pullover and let them pass, better to be sitting on the side of the road thinking 'what a fucking toss' than lying flat on the ground with your bike in pieces thinking 'im gonna get you when i get out of hospital'

Just remember that if you get their details and make a formal complaint to the police, if you want it followed up you need to sign that you will give evidence (testimony) in court - this means you will be strung up for anything that you did wrong in the sitaution too.

lived in welly (born and raised). the drivers dont get much better as you move out of wellington, but they are xceptionally bad there, Try Taranaki, the use of indercators and other standard safety equipment supplied by manufacturers of automobiles goes strait out the window... but can feel for you, doesn't make selling motorcycling to friends and relatives as a safe and fun pastime easy

Spat on you!
That is unreal that is.

You'd have to dig deep to be able to walk away. I think I could do it with my kids or my wife on the back....but I dont know if I was alone or with the mates....

Might need anger management counselling to coincide with the riding.....

We should do what the Americans do (no offence, i kinda like the idea)...lets carry guns with us  that way when we pull it out they might stop yelling abuse/driving badly

I had a 'stupid car driver' experience today.. riding along and a car is getting ready to reverse out it's driveway.. he glaces my way, his brake lights go on, so I move to go around him (me left side of road, car in left side driveway, wanting to reverse to go on right.. hope that makes sense)..

anyway, as i get closer, he just starts reversing right into the middle of the street.. lightning reactions, hit both brakes, back locks up (but front was fine),
do a nice skid (looked, well, at least felt real stylish)
< was heading towards right lane of road, and back came out to correct lean from facing diagonal right, to forward facing :D >, the guy slams his brakes, and i continue my chosen path with my middle finger in the air..

..and the best thing is, instead of having the "uncomfortable almost crashed adrenelin" feeling, I got the nice happy feeling: like me scuffing my right toe slider of my new boots while pulling far away from the cars behind me on a corner :D

PS. Thanks Frosty for telling me to just leave my feet 'in normal position' on low-down peg-scraping corners - instead of putting my foot at an almost right angle.. (for anyone that is wondering, I've got solid pegs with rubber underneath - except the right side, which is missing some rubber from my Pyes Pa crash)

Um... how about "NO".
Bring guns into the mix when tempers are flaring and pride is at stake and then soon you've got homicide, and for what? All because someone couldn't share a piece of the same road with another (Im)mature adult?

Insert Tui ad: Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Yeah, right.

Shame you didn't get his plate and report him to the Police.

I'd just give the guy the finger, Call the guy a tosser and politely say "Excuse me maam!" with a wink and a smile to his misses!
Then smoke him!

Now thats a class thing to do....would have loved to have seen it!

It'd probably be better to show him up rather than take his numberplate and report him....at the end of the day I'd just be wasting my time as its my word against his.

Hahhhhhhaaaaa!

EXACTLY, what I was thinking. I was in 'town' yesterday and constantly had dungpiles pulling out of parks just in front of me. Having had a five year break off local roads until 7 months ago, I can assure you that things really are worse out there and I have learnt just to expect at least one close event each time as part of riding in Wellington. Yesterday - One guy in a black sports car tried to pass me on my inside forcing me to the right in the city! , and then on the way home I even saw another similar type stopped at the lights wait then drive right through a red light. Believe it or not, but in the last 700 kms riding around the Wellington area in 7 months, I have only seen one police car and he was going the other way. Seen none on the roadside nor on patrol. No wonder theres so much nutters still driving on our roads.
If you ride in Wellington.. I suggest your partner does this every time you hit the streets.....:bye: :bye: :bye:

I ride up moorhouse/Blenheim road almost each day and BS like that happens often when you move to the front at the lights. Alot of car drivers then start to creep forward next to you while the lights are still red then take it off really fast just to force you to have accelerate even faster, it pisses me off, its like why do they bother. Are they just pissed off that someone has moved to the front of the queue ?
