Hi everyone. I just did my basic handling skills test last sunday. People had advised me to take the course first, but since I had a couple days experience riding, I didn't think I needed it (stupid I know).
Well lucky for me I took my test with Lee Rusty. Even though I was there for the test, he managed to tell me exactly what I was doing wrong, and what to do right to get around those cones after I screwed up the first few times. He really is a great instructor. Just wanted to thank him.
I bought a Honda CBR by the way. Its awesome!!!

good on ya, how did much it cost you? john williams charges about 190 for the basic handling test. I went for mine about 5 years back but I never ended up getting my bike, mainly because the ex said if i got one he'd dump me because he didn't see himself going out with a cripple, if i crashed. lol what an arsehole!!
anyways when i did get my basic handling certificate again I went through MUMA, and then I went to John again just for riding lesson again before I got my bike, he was abit racist when he made a remark on who I went through to get my cert though.
anyways hope your enjoying your bike, Rock On!!:Punk:

Good on ya. All the best with the new bike.
I had a positive experience with Rider Skills when I did my initial Skills Practical. The instructor at the time hammered it into me to look at where I want my bike to go....
A month later I looked at a guard rail and that was where I went!

Do you mean John Wright? He is very particular!!! Lee Rusty is very good and he gives you lots of laughs while telliing you how to go about the BHS, doesn't test you as such but just observes all aspects.

The test cost me only $50!! And when I called to book, Lee told me whoever turned up at 1.30 on Sunday could have a test.
If there is one thing I'll remember from that test, it's 'look where you're going'. I was surprised at how much of a difference it actually makes. All my shaking and wobbling completely dissapeared when I looked to where I wanted to turn,

Got my BHS from Rusty too, he's the man!
Brilliant choice of bike I must say... Any pics? Also, I'm interested to know what you paid, as it seems to be getting harder to get hold of these bikes again.

Hey thanks. The bike was fairly expensive. Cost me $5500. The upside was that it hasn't done many ks, and its in mint condition. After hearing my friend's story (he bought a zxr for $2500, and its been in the mechanic's for 6 months, costing another $2000) I wanted to make sure I got quality. Bought it from red baron by the way
