Of course they're not scarey, they look just like most gatherings I attend, 'salt of the earth' people and all that..
It worries me Sniper that maybe you're friends do NOT look like these fine people!:blah:

Just a few more reasons why I wont own a harleyHey it's just Fat Bob, Wide Glide, Sporty et al on a family gathering. So what? Saw worse at the Cold Duck. Now there's a quacker of a biker gathering :shake:
Fail to see it's an all Harley gathering though. Honda CB900 customs and Beemers abound. Probably just group of mates shooting the breeze ;).
No wait I own a v-twin that has two wheels so it must be a Harley ah bro? :blip:

At least it's a different reason to the blinkered ignorance and stereotyping that most people apply without ever having ridden one.
Harleys are really nice motorcycles at what they do, ridden by some of the best and truest friends i've ever made.
I have ridden and 'tested' an example of pretty much every brand and type of modern bike - and what did I sign up for and pay off every month - a Harley engined motorcycle. They are that good.
Sure there are lemons - just like Hondas - but most of the people who carp on about them being crap are justifying to themselves that they can't afford one - cause it's not the facts.
The folks I see in those pictures could just have easily been at a Ulysses meet or just about any club ride.

I'd much rather go out for dinner or have a few drinks with these guys than say, the local law society. (or just about any bunch of lawyers en masse)!

The Harley-Davidson owners' demographic being what it is nowadays, odds are that a Harley gathering *is* the local law society. Unless it's a dentists convention.
I wandered through the Harley section at AMPS yesterday, several times (nobody seemed interested in me, which was good, though makes y'wonder about their salesmanship, especially given the amount of drool I was loosing by the Buells) - 'nyway, left muttering to myself "all these lovely air cooled engines, why the hell can't they put one of them into a decent touring frame". And wandered back to the Sprint ST. More drool. decisions, decisions.

Better clarify this for those that gave me the red rep. Especially the rep with the comment "Open your mind". Does that mean I have to take the blue pill?
Anyway, I'll add a disclaimer here:
This thread is in no way aimed at being offensive at harley riders or others that attend rallies, gathering or such. This does not portray my dislike for harley davidsons as in real life, I dont care, they are bikes, just ones that I prefer to stay away from. Old people scare the hell out of me, hence the poking fun from someone 21.
Hope that covers it.....
In no way is this an apology for the thread either.

That's a bit sad - all you did was start a discussion. Isn't that what we are here for?
Don't take it personal.

Nah, I dont take rep personally anymore, the red reb was just from the not understanding/ open minded type. Its when the rep contains personal attacks that I get my hackles up, this time they just wanted to say what they though and they have their reasons where I didnt make mine all that clear
(I think that made sense)

Yeah it's amazing how some people take things the wrong way and jump the gun, I wonder why they just don't ask "What do you mean" etc. Red repping is silly anyway. Whats the point?
I just come on here to have fun, kill abit of time and if I'm lucky I might learn something from some of the more experenced riders.
