Wanted: XF / DR 650 Manual

Unfortunately there is no such thing as an aftermarket workshop manual for the DR650 IE Haynes, Clymer. I've looked hard for one but they don't exist, unless one has come out in the last year or so, but don't hold your breath. The only workshop manual available is the genuine Suzuki one at around $150. I've heard of CD versions of this being sold on Ebay from time to time reasonably cheap - around $40.

Yep, take it to a bike shop :2thumbsup I do a certain amount of work on the bike, but I don't pull the engine to bits, I'd rather pay someone who knows what they're doing to do it much faster and with less frustration than me doing it. I know my limits.

It's usually the two marks on the cam sprokets pointing at each other with the engine at TDC and the cam chain slack on the tensioner side. One of the things it pays to take notes on when you take the engine to bits. Guess it's a bit late for that.

The DR & XF 650 motors are basically the same except the XF has bigger valves & twin carbs.

Single cam of course,but i expect there will be marks as you say.
