could of followed me yesterday ;)
over to Rotorua, then up SH27 (and a few diverts) stopped at maramarua for smoko, back down 1 to hamilton.
I was hoping to head down 16 from puke, but was running out of daylight.
On a more important note: I clocked the V yesterday (speedo off the clock)
Took some effort (and a hill, and wee bit of wind on my back) the twins were screaming for mercy, but I finally hit 140kms ;)
Poor wittle wascal v-twin :(

next time you go for one of your rides, give me a pm.. I've only been on 2 rides (the Toy Run, which isn't really a ride.. more of a commute & the one organized by Carver, which was pretty good, except for me binning.. and momentum..)

Brianemone: I think Sundays are the best days for rides, as some people (eg. me) work on Saturdays..

depending on how sick my kr is (need to clean the muffler or something coz she's smoking like 10 2 stroke bikes all at the same time) i'm up for a ride this weekend...yea will probably get left behind with zero and terminal but if you guys don't smoke it's probably a good idea i stick at the back:stoogie: hehe i doubt the wee kr will top much more than 100 km as well so you guys aren't alone:) keep me posted on whether its a go ahead:)

Don't count on it.. My bike may be one of the slowest, but I'm getting REALLY good at cornering.. and I'm gonna actually have protective gear really soon (instead of just boots, quasi gloves, helmet, and a fake leather Halensteins jacket and whatever pants I'm wearing at the time..)

no fair.. my bike hardly makes it to 110km/h.... and that's when it's not grumpy..
I'm sure you know the Caltex roundabout on Te Rapa Straight? I can get round that at 50-55km/h with my toe down..
..finally.. having to slow down for boy-racers on weekend nights.. I always thought they were fast going round that roundabout, but when in front of them, you just leave them way behind..

so what ended up happening to the Virago? is it completely screwed? and yes, with your riding style, you would give almost everyone the learn (well.. the people that have replied to this thread so far) - thinking back to leaving momentum's place, I'm accelerating away, and you go flying past me at twice my speed :sunny:

It's in my gargre at the moment. STill riding it to work still gonna keep it else Lias would kick my ass. it's just gonna be a pillion bike till my dad gets back from the states when I will be 'loaning' it to him except for when taking passengers.
And the Virago is extreamly slow compared to the likes of a CBR1000.

Me and Quasievil were talking about this yesterday. I'd say that you would get a decent amount of people on a Ham's ride now. Down through Mangakino / Whakamaru and back up old Taupo Rd or something... anyone wanna lend me a road bike?!

i second the fewer straight roads motion coz my bike only just made 110 last weekend on the way to ngaruawahia...loves corners though...unless it's wet, even just cruising around town is all good for me seeing as legally us learners aren't supposed to top 70:baby: hey zero where and how much did your new muffler cost?...i think mine just needs a blow torch to crispn all the carbon inside then knock it out with a hammer or something but i dont' have a blow torch or know anyone who does...just curious anyways

110 sounds a bit slow for a KR, you might need to get it seen to. I ride like a little old lady, so I haven't maxed mine out yet, but it will get to 110 in 4th without much trouble (at which point the wildly inaccurate speedo is reading 140)

is that the old or new shape KR? mine was the new shape and I had to gear it up because it just bounced of the limiter in 6th (~150ish)

I sometimes will go on rides... thinking of putting on a big bbq ride some day soon... need to find a place to wheelie, maybe some tutors... if anyone saw my pathetic attempts on the GSXR yesterday, maybe white trash, loose bruce, or cowpoos, or someone doing a guest spot.
When I do it, I'll sort it out all mint.

Yea bro thats me...i flooded the bike on friday so thought taking the muffler off and cleaning it with soap and water like i did last time would reduce some of the smoke after a good blowout...took it for a spin to ngaruawahia and it seemed to go ok but didn't last long...decided to stop in at road and sport and drool on the way back...sooo embarrased about all the smoke my kr makes and it's size i parked it away from the other bikes in a place most cars park:lol:...ahhh man i want a bigger bike:drool: but yea thats me, blue cyber helmet with tinted visor...at least the helmet is kool as:shifty:
as far as i know i'm free all weekend aye...not to sure about goin on a long ride with the big boys even if they did stick to the speed limit i'm not so sure on how reliable my bike will be and don't wana stray to far from home incase i break it  i'd be up for a good local cruise though aye:niceone: sat or sunday is all good

oh ok, if i had know it was you, i would've said hello.. I was smoking next to the ugly black kinetic (which now has a nice loud exhaust).. your kr did leave quite a bit of smoke, but it is a 2-smoker, so HEY!! :) Until my new exhaust gets fixed properly (not enough back-pressure), I will be in the sub100 group..

I'm thinking of doing something closer to Hamilton if that interests anyone, depends on the weather.
Looking to go kinda early as i'm busy a bit later on in the morning to the afternoon. Shoot part way up SH22 out from Ngaruwhia through a good set of corners just past the turn off to raglan then turn around and come back into town, maybe have a play on the corners see how it goes. Nothing special but a bit of fun none the less. about 100 ks from memory or somewhere round that. I'll be doing the speed limit.
Be keen to catch up with a few people if not to early. looking to go around half nine 10.
Also open to suggestions.
I'll check the site in the morning

time to start a new post me thinks about an actual blat, this one contains a blokes arse :gob: ...
Who ever is about for the queens birthday and fancies helping me run the blade in (by that i mean show me some roads-and doesnt mean ride it for me). Then start a thread with time and date and place, I would but i havent got a friggin clue where anything is or any good roads yet....BUT i can find KFC though :blip: ....
I'll prob be around and keen for a ride, dunno where or when but a thought was maybe the coro loop but not to sure, i'm not really that organised till the day before when it comes to rides so i may have a better clue closer to the end of the week. i'll post a link in here when and if i put up a thread on one. if anyones is gonna go for your life, i'll join in with that.

The Coro Loop is approx 400k from ham.
Could be keen to come for a spin on the weekend. Will know closer to the weekend.
If the the weather is looking really good i might end up somewhere near Kerikeri, the Mrs wants to go and catch up with some friends.

You wont get much change out of 6hrs. And that would mean minimal stops.
Would plan 7-8 with the guys on the smaller bikes. That would allow plenty of time for stops, food:corn: , and liquid refreshments.:apint:

Thats why i said allow 7-8 hrs. You will only be in the saddle 5-6 so your poor arse will have plenty of time to recover.

It took us 7 hrs to do the whole loop with a stop in Coromandel and Coroglen(mmmm Ginny the barmaid), a gas stop in Tairua and another stop in Whangamata... so not a bad little trip
Where were all the Hamilton riders yesterday anyway?...not one :nya:

hmmm.. that sounds do-able.. The Hamilton riders headed for a shortish ride around SH22 Ngarawahia round to somewhere near Raglan.. or something..

why dont we look at a 5 hour ride(with stops)??? 7-8hr will have my backside regreting buying a motorbike.
Why not Hams-Rotorua-Tauranga-Hams??? that would be far more gentle on the saddle area

You should be right, you will probably get an extra 10 - 15 mins break at every stop. Will take a little while for the small bikes to catch up.
And if you dont have to wait you will just have to get hard!!!

Starting to think seriously about the loop, goona wait till later in the week to see what the weathers doing before i make it definate. will also post a new thread with the date time etc etc and put a link to it in here. If i organise it i'll make sure theres enough stops (not to many so it keeps flowing) and do my best to organise it to cater for everyone.
Done it on my 250 and not a worry, just make sure you eat and drink well to keep your energy and attention up and you'll be fine. I think it would be alot more work on a bike smaller than a 250. all good though.

where's the wairarapa then??? i'll have to do a search on google see what i can find:nya: there's nothing wrong with the tron, it may be generally boring according to the rest of the country especially auckland, but it's in the middle of everything so if you've got a bike (which we all seem to have) then it's easy enough to go cruising somewhere else...which makes it all better again:grin:
