Righto people of Wellywood, me and the missus comin down your way for the weekend (Friday 7th and Saturday 8th July).

I have been down to Wellington a couple of times but have never really had a look around so any ideas on things to do etc would be good. We are already planning to take a look at Te Papa cause they have the Lord Of The Rings thingee on there at the moment.

Anyone keen to meet up for a few drinks on Friday the 7th July? Would be good to put a few faces to KB names.

I will be at the Bristol at about 7pm ish.

Yeah Sarah is a big LOTR fan so she is quite looking forward to it.

Not sure where we are staying yet..will find a hotel somewhere.

Unfortunately we won't be on 2 wheels, bringing the car down :doobey:

Well ive never seen any of the movies (I really cant see myself sitting still that long) but I really enjoyed the exihibition. I cant believe how much work went into even the little details!

Well try and get a hotel in Wgtn central so that it'll be easy to meet up. I kind of like Colapops idea about going to the Bristol, but up to you guy's really...

Nah, Poo's recommended them, he likes them cos they always play his requests. Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler etc

I've only been to Wellywood once back in 2003 to watch the All Blacks on their knees.

Sweet as, most of those places are very close (walking distance) from the Bristol and other pubs.

I reckon you should start a thread in meetings and events closer to the time to remind everyone and hopefully you'll getto meet a few of us...

Fish, did I meet you last night at Camellia Court?

If so, there's a bed here for you if you want it, although it's a 10 min drive along the Motorway to Wellington. You might want to be a bit closer so you can walk everywhere.

Either way, the Bristol is my favourite pub, so I'll see you there - upstairs where there are more pool tables. Food's good too.

Well we made it back safely.

Weekend in Welly was pretty good alright!. The weather wasn't sounding the best the night we left but as soon as we arrived the sun came out and the weekend was mint!.

Very nice place from what I saw, Te Papa was pretty interesting with the LOR expo on there at the moment.

Can't say I saw all that many bikes down there though, in fact I think I saw more homeless people sleeping on the footpath in the main streets :gob:

Was good to meet the lads that came along and will definitely visit Wellington again!. :niceone:

Str8 Jacket
10th July 2006, 07:41
Glad you enjoyed Wgtn, sorry to have missed you.. Yeah there are alot of homeless people down here, but I reckon its on par with when I lived in Akld... You wouldnt have seen many bikes as we all leave Wgtn central to go riding over the Takas or Piecock and yonder!

James Deuce
10th July 2006, 07:44
STr8jacket - you haven't got time to post. Get back to work.

O ,and thanks VERY much for reminding me that I was supposed to go to the pub on Friday night (sorry Fishslayer).

I'm getting a new PA. This one's broken.

Colapop
10th July 2006, 08:19
Most of the "homeless" people you saw were probably just on their way home from the previous nights adventures!
Good to meet you and Sarah - You'd better hurry up and get her a decent bike by the sounds of things though!!
