Well, its that time of the year when it gets a bit darker, bit colder and you have to put the liner into your jacket.....

I'm off on wednesday to the States for another 3 month stint on my island....

Thanks to all you KBers that I have met, ridden with and learned from over the summer.... I'll be back come spring, with a full licence and hopefully new bike to ride some new roads and some favourites...

Take care on the winter roads everyone, see you soon....

Nicksta....

ps.. yes boys, i'll be taking pics of the bikes and bikinis at bike week!!!

Damn you, but have fun. Actually it's farewell for a while from me too. The last 8 months have been an education. I've made some new friends and a lot more enemies, been on some great rides and have learnt quite a bit. I've got a meeting across town and will be back in about 2 hours. Until then, take care.

Interesting... mine was in New York state, not far from New Jersey, 'bout 2 hours by bus from NY city. A camp for inner city kids, hard work, but mostly good.
I was one of the lucky ones, I got to escape camp life for a few weeks when we took groups on biking (as in pushbiking) trips around Pennsylvania, staying at Youth hostels, visiting Amish families for a bit of 'culture'. We lived in the 'bush' (american style that is) in canvas tents, cooked on open fires (mostly...breakie was usually cardboard box stuff), I was lucky i got the girls to stay with. Funny watching all these girls doing their makeup before going swimming, at 12 years old.
Those were the bits I loved... the bits i didn't were trying to stop some russian kid from skewering some smart arsed yankee kid with an axe.

ah well... enjoy! And dont slave too hard ;)

Nicksta
28th May 2006, 15:12
yeah, its pretty wacked out with the no alcohol policy this year.. the nearest bar is 17 miles away... at this rate i'll be getting a horse from the stables to get there...oh well... we have had 2 campfires so far.. not many of us here... without being able to go to the pub every night we are pretty bored.... so started playing pranks on people....

tonight one of the girls from california (who is megga afraid of the dark and bugs) decided to go to bed early... so she started on her way to her cabin.. we all (6 of us) ran round the bush to get there first and hid out in her bathroom, she came in hearing weird scratching noises coming from the bathroom, fearing the worst, she opened her door to us yelling arrgghhh... she was freaked...
oh well.. day off tomorrow.. going to the Naswa, beach bar... where they serve cocktails in fish bowls and you can sit in your bikini on a beach lounger half in the water....

Colapop
28th May 2006, 15:19
It sounds like you've settled in well so far. Be sure you get some rubber spiders and fake vomit on your days off - I can even send you an awesome stink bomb recipe....:blip:
Practical jokes are fun - like many moons ago (it feels like) making gunpowder at school and blowing up a cupboard at the back of the scienc lab....

Nicksta
4th June 2006, 09:59
well, i'm not really into the fake vomit stuff..... precamp is rolling along slowly... the no alcohol thing is still sticking unfortunately.... but it didnt stop one of the parents shouting us a night out at the Naswa!! dinner and drinks on the Cohen's.... was amazing... the weather has turned to shit for our 1.5 days off... its down to single didgits in temperature tonight... so we are going to the "Bad Moose" for drinks tonight.... scary pics to follow..... no gossip yet, except the boys bunk got infested by bull ants at 10pm at night and they had to shift.. they were jumping around like girls...lol... got to go... fried chicken for dinner....
