As a few of you know I am studying to be a teacher (refer to thread 'whangaparaoa to parakai'!!)
As part of our training at university we spend set amounts of time at a school and have to do a certain amount of stuff. At the moment I am in my last week at a school (which was four weeks in total) where I was expected to do three days in a row of full control. That means it is just me standing there infront of the class on my own with no help unless it goes absolutely dreadful!!

Anyway today I had a lecturer from my uni come in to watch me take a lesson and go through all my paper work and see what I have been doing for the last few weeks.... and I passed!!!

He said I exceeded all expectations and all this other great stuff!! So I am very very happy tonight :) Just thought I would share that... Yay1 go me!!

At the moment I am in a year 3 class.. I am pretty sure that is the lowest age I will go

Originally I wanted to teach between st4 and form 2... so 10-12 year olds

But I am absolutely loving this practicum with the little ones. My best mate is in the class next to me with new entrants, one of the girls in her class wets her pants a lot.. I don't think I could handle having a class like that!

Eg of my stress... I think one of the boys in my class has been beaten by someone at home. Yesterday he was real quiet and had a swolen eye and today he wasn't at school, not sure if it is something or just my paranoia!!

Well done. Sounds like fun.

One of my kid’s teachers once told me that if we don’t believe all the things that our kids tell us about her in class, she won’t believe all of what our kids tell her about us...

Sallah: How?

Indy: I don't know, I'm making this up as I go.

Good lord woman, he's a boy! Of course you are going to see the boys with black eyes, and the odd missing tooth, and fat lips. They have been fighting! It is what boys do. And a jolly good thing too.

They will also knock themselves silly, I hope, falling out of things, break an occasional limb when they discover how gravity works, and get themselves into all sorts of other pinful predictaments. The more intellectual ones will blow themselves up at some point making gunpowder.

Go them. I am old, and a sook. I will sit on the sidelines and watch.

Please do not be one of those silly female teachers who goes rushing in every time there's a decent fight and breaks things up. Give the young lads space to be boys.

Well done and congrats.

I wanted to be a school teacher but they failed me on my poor eyesight. Apparently I couldn't control my 'pupils'.
