Is the 82/83 DR engine the same as the GN 250?.

I was thinking maybe I just do a full transplant instead of just doing the piston etc. GN250 donks are cheap 2nd hand. Will this work?.

...and he says they are basically identical.
Externally the only thing getting in your way is the starter motor.

Yeah, thanks dude, I didn't want to bug Shane, he has done lots for me so far, and taught me so much, and I don't like bugging people like Shane who give their time freely, and are all round nice buggers. Saw your bike last Sunday at the go kart track Nord's, Gary and I were coming home from a slippery ride in the Moutere.

Was out with the camera for the Club Champs.

So when are you going to start doing ClassicMX?
Huh? huh? huh?

We will probably come to the next one.
Because we are super new at it, we are spending every weekend riding in a forest somewhere, so that we can at least get off the starting grid in a race, and not be a grandma like me.

I think in a little while, Gary wont have the KX anymore anyway, so it will just be me in the classics. We are busy cleaning up the KX at the moment, and I'm sure he's gonna sell it. So you will get ya shock back anyway :P

Thanks for the loan of it too btw, very much appreciated.

When will my bike be able to be ridden in vintage mx???
Oh and i heard the GN 250 had a funny top gear that is too high or somthing so you dont have to hold it open to sustain 100kph
or something like that.
