what exactly is involved in repainting a tank? looking at a couple on tardme, they have the stock paint on them....would that have to stripped? and what would i use to repaint and seal it?
would like a customized tank for the bike and maybe covers if any come up, but also want to keep my stock ones.
do you do it all freehand or is there a way of getting a proper design, aside from stencil?
how hard is it to re-hook up the system to get fuel circulating? [gn250]
the painting on occ seems very complex, but mine wouldnt be that detailed, just a simple design. would do it myself as cant afford to have it done custom.
many thanks for any advice.

Outfits like "Total Bodyshop Supplies" here in The Hutt sell colour-matched auto paint in aerosol cans. You can buy spraybombs in whatever shade of any colour you like. If the paint on your bike is fresh, and free of scratches etc. you can often prepare with a scotchbrite pad as opposed to wet & dry sandpaper. prime, sand, colour, sand, colour, sand, polish. it's helpful to have a mate who is a panelbeater.

Nothing about it is difficult, more a case of knowing the correct techniques for a reasonable outcome. I know a guy in the valley here that apparently does the meanest flames in Welly bar none, flames might be a bit much though aye?

flames are on everything bike related these days. was thinking of something indian or similar. maybe a wolf? not sure yet....can draw ok on paper, but gas tank might be different!

Careful there... a wolf can at first glance look like a dog.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
