BEWARE!!!!
There is a scammer that if fishing for your trademe login id and password.
They send a realy authentic email saying
"It has come to our attention that your Trademe billing updates are out of order. If you could please take 1-2 minutes out of your online experience and update your billing records you will not run into any future problems with the online service. However, failure to update your records will result in account termination. Please update your records
To update your Trademe records now click here:"
Then the authentic looking URL takes your to an exact copy of the login page.
DONT DO IT - they will have access to your financial info and/or any credit that u may have.

It is setup straight forward and u dont need certs as not a secure site. Anyway 99% of people would go straight to the page, the other 99% wouldn't know wot u r talking about.
Wonder how much the rsoles have got so far?
I learnt a long time ago to scan the URL address every time I log into anything online.

I found this announcement on Trade Me Announcement site.
So they have known about it since 12th April 2006
12 April - Security announcement
There is currently an email circulating, that appears to be from Trade Me, asking you to confirm your details. It directs you to a site that looks like Trade Me and asks you to log in. This is not from Trade Me.
Please be extra careful, to stay safe make sure the address in your browser starts with http://www.trademe.co.nz/... each time you login.
If you have already responded to the email please change your password immediately and contact us if there are any remaining problems.

Have had a nosey and the rsoles keep changing thier host site. Turdme appear to have been playing catch up and have been shutting them down each time they pop up.
However - they are very aware of it and should IMHO have a big bold warning on their home page.

I totally agree.... as not everyone reads the Site Announcement section.
I have checked that section out, maybe 3 times and only when someone points out new info that effects everyone...

Those guys are f'ed up. They sent an email out last week or the week before headed something about "your anz account" & then babbled on about a trademe account. Doh! So I sent them an email to say they can't get anything right & to f off. Anyone dumb enough to go to the site deserves what they get.

Hang the fat f%ck by his toes for a day, then tie him between two fireblades going in opposite directions and rip him in half. Internet scammers, in fact any scammers deserve a large amount of pain. Well glad to have gotten that off my chest.
