I've got polarised prescription sunglasses, and they react strangely with the UV coating on my visor, giving everything a purple/green sheen. It's like the world has been airbrushed with that purple and green colour changing paint. Car windscreens turn bright purple, which makes them super easy to see in my little mirrors. And it saves me money on mind altering substances :doobey:

I used to have the same problem, well not problem, it was rather cool. :D
Left those sunglasses in a changing room on hot water beach though. :argh:

Car windscreens turn bright purple,

The polarization also means you can see the strenghtening in windscreens etc

Its mainly the high end cars with their UV blocking windows that appear the purpleiest

Aviators are about the worst style sunnies for motorcycle riding. Cool enough, but something that seals better against the face - wrap arounds - are better at keeping dust, debris and cold, tear inducing breezes out.

Aviators are also not very impact resistant, I hit a pidgeon at 120kph in an open face - fair on the cheek and sunnies - It was like a good punch - the ray ban wrap arounds I was wearing suffered a cracked plastic frame (replaced under warranty too) - I suspect aviators would have cut me badly.

There is too much sharp wire and edges in the event of a face plant too.
And don't wear them with your visor up for long.

Well it is where a third of the population lives - just ahead of Bondi.

Ive got a pair of Bole safety glasses that i wear. Bloody good they are. Dont make everything really dark, just reduce the glear. Best thing is that you can abuse the shit out of them, they still scratch, but you have to be pretty rough with them to do any damage.
They use almost the same style of frame as the $180 fashion version, but cost me only $40.
Will post a pick when i get home

Oakleys . . . only way to go. The straight frames slide into your helmet easier than just about any thing else, and their pretty easy on the eye to look through.

Not cheap, but I figure that five years down the track they have cost me less than 20 cents a day, got similar mileage out of my last pair too. Getting due for a new pair soon, and will almost definately go Oakleys for them too. The one good thing about the price of them is that it makes you look after them.

Some might, my Juliets stick out a fair bit and as they are rigid as a rigid thing they aint going to work with a helmet, have some smiths that do that job just fine though

Mine have always been purchased with one of the chief criterior being how "helmet-friendly" they are.

Too much riding at night, and cant be arsed swaping visors out. Would go that way if all my riding was during the day, but alas . . .

Besides, I'm normally carrying my sunnies anyway, so might as well be wearing them!

I bought my helmet because it was glasses-friendly. Now I want new prescription frames, and am wondering if I'll need to take my helmet to the optometrist with me.

I've tried many brands over the years from Polaroids to Moschino's and without doubt the best are Bolle's. Not cheap but they do come up as specials occasionaly at Rebel Sports.

I wear a pair of Dirty Dogs that have an amber lens in them, which is great if it clouds over, starts to get dark, or you go through a tunnel, cause you can still see as they make things bright in the dark, yet cut out the glare of the sun. The only down side of them is that they don't have straight arms and get caught in my hair and pull like shit sometimes when I take them off while wearing a helmet, but otherwise good!
