"kiwi Biker ID"

I've been a member of Kiwi Biker for a while now and often go to events and venues around the country. As this site has quite a large membership, I'm sure there have been many other members from here who have also been in attendance but I have had no way of knowing who they are.
One good way to do this would be to have a "Kiwi Biker" Badge or small sew-on patch to attach to your jacket and a Bike sticker as well. I know there would be a small cost involved in this but I'm sure most members would'nt have a problem with this. Maybe Spankme could take a poll on this and if it comes out positive, then there will be some numbers to work with.
I would certainly like to identify and meet more of our members when out and about. What are your thoughts and ideas on this???

Cheers

Robbo

Simple, problem you're gonna have is "Hmmm, who's is that Alstare GSXR? Is it ColdKiwi, Chingy, White trash, Scroter...." <_<

you can still order I think Jbee. You've just missed the next print run so may have to wait a while.

Another option is to follow the Ambulance to a KB ride

Hi Jbee
That was a good example as I was at the Cold Duck myself and would'nt have known any other Kiwi Bikers.
The tee shirts are good but are usually covered up by a jacket. I was thinking more of a small but distinctive cloth badge to go on the outside of a jacket etc.
Cheers

I agree with the idea that there be some external identification. I am not cool enough to not get cold just wearing a T-Shirt in winter. Should always ride with something other than just a T-Shirt anyway.
Haven't been about enough to know how effective stickers are.

A little patch would be cool but then it's more costs for SpankMe and if ya wear enough layers underneath your t-shirt you can proudly dislay it!

Maybe if we post when we're gonna be at an event there could be a central meeting point, I know it's a little tricky sorta hanging around trying suss if someone is the person you should be meeting or not but maybe if we're organised enough we can like all wear some thing distinctive or whatever.

I agree with this also although it may be sometime before me and dh can get to a rally anyway, but a small sticker would be good to stick on the helmet, just the intialls KB'er in reflective saftey tape, would add to the safety aspect as well as easily spotted, I don't know about any of you but my bike doesn't have a whole lot of places to put stickers and stuff like that,

Great idea, but I wouldent sew a cloth badge onto my leather as I dont ride a HD...but I would were a pin type badge like a rally badge.
Having helped arange a rally I know that they arnt as cheap but somwere between $5-$10 depending on numbers.

How about you help out Spankme and get some organised? Sounds like a good idea, and you could just order 10 and keep them till they sell if you are willing to put up $100
I'd buy one...

Since I've been back in Pomgolia I haven't encountered another KBer, though I get a few comments when I walk (still no bike) around with the shirt on.

Pin on badge sounds like a pretty good idea,id be in for that,no doubt some of us are headin to the cold kiwi 3-4-5 sept for the 30th anniversary rally ,so would kinda be good to have something organised by then ,but then thats not leavin much time ,might have to settle for the stickers . :ride:

Yep, I've dun a little poking around and the price is around $7 but the person ordering has to buy the die's which they keep and the shit about it is they can be worth up to $500 :crybaby: But if ya can borrow these from someone then your in buisness.... I'm still on the case :)

SpankMe: I hope I haven't breached copyright, but I've enlarged the sticker on our colour photocopier at work. At 300% enlargement, it comes out close to A4 size. I thought I might put a couple of these up at xjxjxj's pit at Taupo (so long as he's happy for it to be the "meeting point". They will be pretty easy to spot.

Can also put a couple up at someone's pit at Manfeild on the 29th/30th.

In my previous job as production and design manager for one of Wellington's top design companies we created the metal scratchy things for the Instant Kiwi stands.

We used a company called Rokfire (www.rokfire.com) to create these scratchies (they look a bit like big fat guitar picks).

We could get some metal and enamel badges made by this company. Not too sure on prices per item, as it's dependent on production run, but I could call on some old contacts and find out some more info if you like, SpankMe.

I'll be there on the 29th (not 30th tho...). I was also thinking it would be useful to know know who else on KB races - in what club, class and bike.
I'm always in need of a bit of advice, and although most racers are a friendly bunch it would be good to catch up with other KBers at race meets.
