Lost Luggage

Well I lost my tail bag off my bike yesterday:angry:
With my wallet, cash, cell phone, wet weather gear, sunglasses... all the usuall stuff
Somewhere between Masterton and Tirumea. Was on my way to Weber

Spent 3 hours checking the road a couple of times but no luck finding it.

If someone happens to come across it and some how I get it back I would be stoked.
Spent today cancelling all the cards, blocking the cell phone etc.. but there is some paper work in it that I would really like to get back.
Its a black Oxford Humpback bag and of course all my details & business cards etc are in my wallet (if thats still in it) so IF by some miracle it is found could they either PM me or give me a call.

The only reason I took it was I thought it might rain and of course it was a great day over that way and I didnt really need it, that was until I headed over the Tararuas to scab some $$'s off the folks and then is pissed down at Otaki and Paraparaumu and I got soaked.
Well at least it didnt end up in the wheel and me having an off, so I suppose it could have been worse.

Yep, Masterton and the other local cop shops have been informed.
Also let a couple of the local farmers know about it and they have said they will ask the neighbours.

That’s a drag, I turned up at the DerwentStreetBoys rally & they said, Hey Dave, you’re travelling light! Not stay'n the night?

What do you mean?, my panniers are right. . . .erm. . . SHIT {180 & out the gate again}

There is a long straight on the way to Wainuioru(sp) & a bit of a bump bridge. I sped (legally of course) down the straight & squinting there was a small black pile on the road. As I got closer it was sitting in a pool of liquid.

And Hissing.

So when I got it back to the site I set up my tent & quickly consumed all the preopened beers (fortunately cans) before they went any flatter. The remaining ones were pretty cool as a conversation starter, all gravel rashed & wrinkled. The two bottles I was carrying broke & slashed my bags up a bit.

I now always tie on the bags, or have the seat over the strap.

Sorry to hear or your troubles.
Lost the pack off the back of my XJ900 last year while not taking it lightly coming into Tamaranui. Was following some guys who were heading to Cold Kiwi. Well the pack rack broke and I felt the bike move a bit but thought my wife was shifting around. Well got to Owhango and no pack. Went back and searched for a couple of hours that day and 2 more seperate times. Not a very straight bit of road and after walking a good part of 30k's looking in trees and gullies and culverts nothing to be seen. Lost all our gear, camera etc. fortunately we both had our cards and phones on our person so appart from getting to Palmerston North with no clothes we managed ok!

But I figured the pack was either picked up by someone dishonest or its still up a tree somewhere. I figure a sliding pack could go a reasonable distance at pace!

We were heading down there for a Manfield track day so were every bit of weight we could do without was to our advantage :)

Yeah I've ridden an XJ900 & you travel everywhere 'not taking it lightly'

Having said that I owned a GS11 & that just about left creases in the tarmac.

no one seen his pack?

ive nearly lost a load or two off the top of my topbox....use a small cargo net to secure it, but have learned it needs to be attached [tied to something] to avoid it slipping off the back.
bought a load of magazines in palmy...wrapped in a plastic bag and then wrapped in my jersey...on the top box then cargo netted down. get about 5 mins out of palmy, check my mirror...cant see my books. look over my shoulder....SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pull over, and the whole lot is dangling around my tail light.
now i carry a back pack, which i bungy too the brackets, and tie any extra to the handle on top....lol.

Im just glad it didnt end up in the rear wheel. Things could have got ugly. REAL Ugly real fast
