if you make a post in here we're gonna see what your screen name is anyway so you dont have to put it in the title... but if it makes you feel special then it's fine with me, i just think it looks stupid. :whocares:

Awwww stop picking on the newbies....
:scooter: :scooter: :scooter: :scooter:
Maybe they have been told to do that in some new newbie rules.
Hey all newbies its ok to add your name into the title line if you want to do that..

I did wonder about it myself. It started a couple of months ago, with almost all newbie intro threads now having that title format. Is it a case of copy-cat, or is it a Moderator added feature?
On the other hand, who cares? If that's all you've got to moan about gareth, you've got a great life.....:nya:

I do it because some people may use RSS feeds (which dont say who wrote the thread), and sometimes Im reading posts based on who wrote it, not what the subject title is. With the exception of this post of course.:)

Indeed they do. It's a way of making it easier to navigate a gazillion threads imaginatively titled "Hiya" or "Newbie speaks".

If you mean the "MDU" I put at the end of each post - I hadn't thought about it, but For me it's a habit rolling over from my job doing a lot of professional correspondence.

Does anything really matter? Is the sky really blue, or does it just appear that way? They say the grass is green but I hear it's just a reflection. Are we really here? It's a nice day today. I think I'll go and lie down now...

I normally do it because both me and hubby use the same log in, and so people can pick on me personally when I say stupid things and leave the hubby alone. And yes I do have my own log in, but can't be arsed logging in and out, so identify at bottom of post whether the silly comment was me (Mrs Kendog) or the other half who doesn't sign off with any name. ok? :bye:

People don't know how to correctly use apostrophes, grammar or spell. Or how to sensibly use subject lines on emails or web posts. We're off to hell in a handcart. The end of the world is nigh. Lock up your mothers. The BDOTGNZA is mounting a valiant rear-guard defense against the Forces of Evil and Darkness, but we are in danger of being overrun at any moment, as our stocks of punctuation and capital letters are dangerously low.

LOL!!!!!!! I can still clearly remember my mother correcting us! "It's 'different FROM!', not 'different TOO!' " Try telling some of the TV announcers that these days!

They also don't know that you shall not start a sentance with "Or" or "And".

I got a good one for ya... my rear guard defense is so simple, and incredibly effective.
Eat curry - lots and lots of curry, about 2 or 3 hours before you need that rear end defense.
It'll be there when you need it... trust me! (just don't push to hard)

No of course thou'rt not here, silly, thou art there. I'm here. Or I was. I'm not now.
Oh, and Mr Hitcher - if thou art having problems with a shortage of capital letters, apply to Mr WINJA. He is valiantly doing his bit to redress the shortfall.
I think that BOTTYNZ (the genuine and original grammar nazi, have no truck with Mr Hitcher's pale and spurious imitation, we give green stamps) should reinstitute the campaign to reinstitute the second person singular. And the objective and refleive cases.

Just read that again, it did sound grumpy.
I wasn't feeling grumpy, just don't like having to conform, I dislike rules and rule makers.
That's why I left school but found the world was full of them.
I try to avoid anyone who has the authority to say "no". :blip: Actually I try to avoid authority mostly.:nya:

i was refering to the newbies who all seem to have stated a thread in with their user name in the title of the thread.
Was wondering if it was a case of follow the leader, or perhaps as mentioned, something that the mods had put in place whether it be to make the newbs look stupid or to make rss feed show the name of new users.
