I need a wee run of business cards done - and figure I might as well push that business through the KB fraternity.

Anyone want the business? Prices for a run of 100 or 500 (how many does one buy??)

What format do you need the proof to be in, EPS? PDF? AI?

I'm not a printer but I paid $185 for 1000 two-colour one-sided business cards and a further $99 for 500 stickers the same size (but slightly different info) - oh, and that's plus GST, so that should give you some idea of what you can get them for.

That was through a crowd in Christchurch - the ones in Levin were a hell of a lot dearer. I'd be happy to support a KBer next time if there is one offering to do them for the same or less.

Their website is www.zip.to/cards and they offer discounts for more than 1000 as well. I provided them my art work (done in Publisher) in a Word file and they just used a colour as close to mine as possible. Watch their proofs though, sometimes you pick up spacing errors!

They are down in Nelson,a bit far away. The bike connection is when the guy walked into my place with his sales speel,he saw my bikes and started talking. His son who was doing their graphic design work was the guy who did the design work on the Britten, then went on to do Bloor's Triumphs and then to Ducati.....so a bit of a wasted talent doing business cards. This was a couple or more years ago so may of moved on.I have never done business with them, but he was an interesting guy to talk to,and I kept his card...

You really will struggle to beat PrintStop (http://www.printstop.co.nz/) for prices on business cards.

If you know a graphic designer, you can get business cards done very cheaply as part of off cuts from other printing jobs. When I was self-employed I got cards done as part of a pocket-cut back cover for an annual report. All it cost me was pre-press design and guillotining! Knowing this trick I also got similar things done for other small business clients.

Does anyone here have 'Digital Prepress' as their occupation is their CP? :innocent: They may also do digital printing on high quality printers with in-house guillotining etc.
