ive been wondering whats the difference between viffers and riffers? do the viffers have the legendary handling of the riffer? and what are the rvfs good and [if possible] bad points? im very interested in them. :scooter:

Virtually the same...

VFR has more power...

RVF has 17inch rear and is newer. It also has different fairing style....

Send a PM to kwaka-kid... he could write a good two pages on vfr's and rvf's...

They're both great. As mentioned, 17" rear on RVF, upsidedowners. 1 or 2mm smaller carbs on RVF. Both look great, RVF looks like an RC45 which is neat (doesn't say 400 on it anywhere iirc). Power difference is neglible, they're both slower than the best IL4s, but yummier all round. Nice bikes, I'd own one.

awesome. ive been using google and the RVF is limited to 180k [certain models] but i wouldnt go that fast....I think that would be all models. But there are several ways of bypassing it. I got mine with the speedo limit bypassed. I have taken it off the clock, and the clock ends with a '.' where '190' would be.

The smaller carbs are not the hindrance, they have a better shape than the VFR carbs (The trumpets are straight on the RVF, they turn on the VFR). The apparent hindrance to the RVF is the less aggressive ignition at higher revs and allegedly different cams.

I think I know what to do to make the RVF engine work like it is supposed to. A few changes here and there, sadly one has to spend a few $$s.

It looks lovely and when you know how, it is quick too.
