What sort of 600 did you buy mate? Your profile says a 93 ZX6R?
Fisherman

A 97 not 93 as the profile would lead you to believe. Looks like a communication error between the brain and fingers. Cheers for spotting that though.

Yeah its going great. The only thing is that it seems to make a whistling noise at around 80 - 110 kmph but as this is the only problem things have got to be good. Did you messure the thickness on the front disks lately as the seem well worn and i dont have access to micrometer? hows ur new bike going ( silly question really)? Cheers for all the comments aswell.

Could be worth trying another helmet, never noticed any whistling noises... of course once you ride a bike for a few years, you get used to it. Never mic'd the discs, but they should have plenty of life left in them. New bikes ok, but I'd have kept the 6R in heartbeat if I was able :)

With the post and someone asking about age of the bike got me wondering , just did some research into the manufacture dates of the zxrs and it was stopped around 94 ( does anyone know the actual year/date? ) although is still made in a Malaysian plant although i think the parts are the same old ones. So i guess mine sat around for a couple of months before actualy leaving the plant by the sounds of it. Things i never did as a noob aye.

95 could just be the year for registration. I didn't think they made them in 95 but could be wrong. had to laugh at the question "what are the pipes going into the fuel tank for". You should have been honest and told him it was for the flux capasitor - all ZXR owners know that!

95 is the year first registered, but no-one actualy knows when any bike was made. Ssshhhh dont let out the secret to our amazing speed, not to what is bound to be a ten year logged in under his mums name.

**NEW PRICE** $4300
Bad news for me but maybe some good fortune for someone else.:weep:
Looks like there is some sort of problem with the top end on the bike now. Another kb member was looking at buying it so got a comp test done on it and they came out at a sad 95ish psi across the board. They guy didnt actualy tell me there was anything wrong (he said there isnt anything really wrong with it when i asked ) but after taking it for a quick ride 2day its definitly (sp?) down on power and there seemed to be more oil in the drain bulb (that clear cylinder plastic which is by the front of the chain) last time i checked it which i think is a drain from the air box. So with my limited powers of deduction id guess at the infamous cam chain doing something it shouldnt. I was about to check it but with the new bike i got distracted .:bash:
So I have seriously reduced my price if anyone wants it. Shame to see it lame so would like someone to restore to former glory otherwise itll be off to the bike shop. This way you would basicaly get a nice bike with top end rebild at my cost.
NEW PRICE $4300

$4000
Its got to sell. Someone must want this bike. Shipping to auckland is around $200 so dont let that hold you back. Not much wrong with her, not sure as to problem but you can get a shop to do a whole top end rebuild and still get a bargin and know exactly whats inside.
Buy it. Sell it and maybe turn a profit.
Does anyone stilll look here?

im looking, put the bike on trademe.

14th June 2006, 21:13
The bike has just been up on trademe but i didnt know anything was wrong with it when i listed it so the price and ad represented that and i think people got scared off when i said that it wasnt going right as everyone is in Auckland it seems so would buy unseen. Its got low comps and is a little down on power but i dont know if its rings or valves as the bike shop did the comp test and didnt do the oil test.
Anyway its up for $4000 or ill fix it and relist it later at a proper price that is deserves (almost sold it twice for $4700 as one couldnt get the cash and the other got the comp test and rightly backed out)

Why dont you spend the extra money and get it sorted rather than just let it sit there?
Fisherman
15th June 2006, 19:27
Am in the proccess of getting it sorted but just wanted to know if anyone wanted it first at the cheaper price rather than me do the work as if they did the work themselves they would come out better off. Im about to strip it though so the offers almost expired anyway.
