Saw on the news tonight that some cop in the occupation section of a ticket wrote "asshole." Now the cop is in the shit. Personally I though it was bloody funny as all hell. The guy receiving the ticket probably was just that an asshole.

Can you cops fart these days without it being claimed as bad and finding its way into the media?

Next time I get a ticket I want GP superstar in the occupation section.

Comes down to professionalism. If I called a client an asshole in writing I'd be in trouble too. Difference is my lapse of professionalism wouldn't make it onto the news. Bonus points to the cop for rebelling against the Policitically Correct.

So to the porn star, aiming for www.bearslikeitbig.com?

I fail to see the relevance of a persons occupation when it comes to the issuing of a ticket. Surely it must just be a statistic gathering method, but why?

If the guy provided Arsehole as his occupation when questioned, how has this issue come this far? If the guy is not an Arsehole, he surely must be guilty of giving false information in the first place.

Police headquarters probably got involved as a result of the Arsehole trying to get off the ticket with the Infringement Bureau. I wonder if he got off the ticket?

At least the cop aint out there writing tickets for bikers doing 110km/h, at the moment anyway.

From what they were saying on the telly I got the impression that the arsehole had approached the media himself.

And no, he didn't get off the ticket. He paid, then bitched to the local paper about it. It snowballed from there.

What an arsehole.

Well you don't actually have to give your occupation. Name, address, and DoB is all that you're legally obliged to give.

I read somewhere a while ago that of all the professions the Police have the higest offending rate. I see some cop in Ross has been nailed for financial mismangement amongst other abuses.

Good on the Cop. Some people need to learn some respect. Their job to to make sure people arn't going to die on our roads. Sure there are some twats out there, but i believe the majority are good people. :whocares:

This aritcle had me in tears of laughter... fark it was funny... Good on the cop... The matter was investigated by the Police, and it appears that the cop asked for his occupation 3 times... You could tell when that wanker said "I never said 'arsehole', I wouldn't call anyone that." He was shitting out his mouth....

Well done that cop.... AND to top it off, the guy reckons he wasnt going that was (21kmh over the limit)... arsehole sums him up quite nicely....

If some twat answers a question, which is asked and answered 3 times (obviously to clarify the response given), and he writes down that "evidence" correctly.

I see they did another story about another ticket, with "Whore" written under occupation.... You can just tell these people were being mouthy, and think they are innocent even when they were both doing 21kmh over the limit... I want to make a story up about how funny the cops were and how much attitude the ticketees had...

That was pretty funny how Hillary Barry said "Arsehole" hehehehe...

Something to do with Gay Pride?

I dunno. Maybe it's recognition that the guy WAS an arsehole and the next one in line was correct too. Councelling for doing the right thing's a waste of money and only starts a witch hunt so...

why bother?

Different bosses have a different approach to such things I guess. Good on the "whore" inspector who insisted there was no need to take the matter further, at least there is still some common sense amongst the officer ranks. I wonder if the cop who wrote "arsehole" will take out a personal grievance case against his boss now that he knows about the "whore" case?

Does the inspector sit you on his knee and ask you what seems to be the trouble?
Or is it a light smack?

Thats just TV3 for ya, anything to have a go... always been that way since a couple of TV3 reporters got locked up for obstruction not long after they started up all them years ago...

Missed the item, don't watch TV3 news...sounds funny though. Wrote "Burglar" on one ticket once as an occupation, coz that is wot he sed... Guess it is the same in this matter.

Dont know yet but suspect I will SOON!

I guess someone at PIB is trolling thru all my notices over the last twenty years as I always write what the client states (and have not had any problems in court when asked why the occupation reads "#@$%#@"!!)

I would more likely get counselled if I wrote "prostitute" when client states whore or solicitor etc

also will all those lovely clients that call US arseholes get counselling??
