Its about time we have another Wasp's Welly Weekend (W)ride, innit?

Plan is to meet the Palmy guys at the flying fish for lunch and then probably escort them as far as Masterton where we will split, turn around and go home.

So. welly boys (and girls). we will be meeting at caltex rimutakas at 10:30, departing at 11 to be at the flying fish around 12:30-1 PM.

Palmy crew. Dhunt is organising your side of things. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=30067

So whos keen?

I hate to be a wet blanket, but the weather's not looking too flash on Sunday...

If the weather's good, and if I can get a leave pass, then I'll be in.

Would anybody else from Kapiti area be interested in going up and joining the Palmy group? Or perhaps do the whole loop ride?

Mrs KD: whats happening to your bike? How did the bafflectomy go?

Took it into Cycleworks to get an idea of how much he would charge to do the bafflectomy properly like (think the other half was a bit worried about stuffing it up and me killing him), and........
talked myself into a new set of exhausts. So hoping he'll have it done by the weekend!

Well I might have to tag along too.

Got the footpeg sorted out yet Wasp??

We could call this the Brass Possum Ride or something, kind of consoling for us that would rather be further south this weekend.

Cool be good to have you a long. Last time I went to palmy I lost a bit of fairing but I was going by myself so didn't even notice until the rest staying flapping in the wind - never found the missing bit. Had to get the bungy cords out. That's what I get for doing slack fix up job. :(

bloody $%#^&*%^$$#^&(* bike!
Won't rev over 8k, number 2 plug is black. swapped plug leads to test those and coils, swapped slides on carbs to test vacum and lots of other shitty tests. Getting concerned I won't have it sorted for round 2 of actrix series...grrrrrrr :-(

More tests, have come to the conclusion the valve clearences have tightened on number 2. I've made over 10 test runs through the night, thank goodness for no neighbours eh.
There is no sign of rain in dvirke, which is usually rain hq and i see the forcast has improved over night, so you all have a great ride, I'll be on the next one.
I'm going to bed now :zzzz:

I think I'll have to say I'll pull out of going mate. My mate here isn't that keen to go all that way and it certainly looks worse over your side of the mountains. Also gives me more time to finish packing. Next time.

I went over to Caltex - Upper Hutt earlier (9:15ish) to see if anyone was about. Hung around for half hour but no one arrived so ended up flagging the day's ride.
It was dry when I left Tawa but thankfully I put the wet gear on. From Porirua, over the Haywards and up to Upper Hutt, it never stopped raining.
Waterproofs kept me dry but have found out that the boots aren't waterproof. Got off the bike to find I was standing in a puddle (inside the boots). Bugger

Maybe next weekend!!!!

Good call there Wasp to call it off.

I think there may have been a fatal on the Wainui Hill thismorning. If cages can't stick to the black stuff a group ride over the Taka's aint a good idea.

Prob a bit of both.
I'm feeling a bit down as I have to take my 17 year old staffie to the vet on Tuesday, prob to put her down, one winter to many I'm afraid. She is in a lot of pain. That with the personal shit in my life, i just wanted to ride....tis my therapy.
