Just wanting to find out if i got riped off with the bike I got.
I probably should have checked on here before I got it but I didnt really know about this site.
its a 94 CBR250RR with about 40k on the clock. Got it for 6k and all the riding gear for about 800 (boots, gloves, helmut, pants and jacket)
Im keen to start going out on some rides so any info about that sort of thing would be appreciated.

Jeez, sounds a bit high to me.
But then I can never understand the massive prices old 250's sell for....
I paid 5k for my '93 RR about 5 years ago, it had 23k on the clock and I thought it was overpriced for what it was back then......

6k for a gixxer 6? ok.. when the time is right, screw replacing the 170 with an $7500 250..

na, i dont think you got THAT ripped off.
I paid $5,500 for my first CBR, that had $40K on teh clock and was in mint condition and that should have been $6,000 but i knew a guy who knew a guy and i smiled sweetly.
My second one i paid $5,000 for it and that was with $12K on the clock and even more mint condition, but the chick before me and brought it three weeks earlier for $6,000 and she jsut happened to be desperate.
If you look after your CBR, in 6 or 12 months time you will still be able to get $6,000 for it. 250's are really sort after and obviously because its a CBR, its even more sort after.. because well
lets face it.. Hondas rock :) (wow i'm gonna get a lot of flack for that)
Also the $800 for all the gear is an amazing price!!!!

Price seems around what 250s are selling for these days, but you did get conned.
I'd suggest taking it back, getting a refund, and buying a proper bike instead *cough* ZXR *cough*

It was from a dealer too. I realise thats not the best option but while the g/f was saying yea go get one I thought I better act quick hehe.
So they gave me a good price on all the gear and also b'cos they didnt have the standard black helmut I got a upgrade to the $150 dollar one which was really good.
Need to go get my restricted and full so I can get a bigger bike.
Body work on the bike isnt that good but nothing a little TLC can't fix. Dont get me wrong its nothing major.

Hey man nice to hear that you got a CBR. I bought myself a CBR250 just last monday (or was it the monday before). I paid $5800 for it. Bought it from Red Baron. It is in mint condition 39k on the clock... and...... oh yeah '92. I think I might have been a bit ripped off, but better safe than sorry is what everyone kept telling me.

ouch!!!!:gob: i was thinking more like $3500 $4000 for an upgrade to 250 from my 150 but $5 & $6k is just WAY to much for bikes which aren't really that big anyways...
i'm new to bikes but i'm sure the milage doesn't matter THAT much if it's in good nick...however thats based on my exp with cars so whateva you guys say...:niceone:

Yea was curious as to what they were worth. I mean at the end of the day I have it and am slightly Satisfied with it.... NEED something bigger now!!
250 is fun to ride but I dont like the top end area. Need something with some more torque! Old man just got a VTN 1800 (I think its VTN but would have to check that) really keen to get on that and go for a ride. Next time Im in Rotorua I will be taking it out.
Need to get my full so I can legally ride a bigger bike. Where is the best place to go to site your bike license. I heard of a place somewhere that you can get your full in about 2 hrs or something? out west somewhere?
I dont see how that is possible but I have seen stranger things in my life.
