Hi guys,
Sorry to invade your forum, but its damm hard to get decent info over here on this bike.
Anyway, the last 2 days or so, a squeaking noise is coming from the mid section of the bike. If I sit / compress the mid/rear of the bike, it sounds like a mouse under torture :P
All I can tell is, its not the front forks, and it seems to be under the fuel tank, though i'm not certain about this, as i've yet to take the fairings off. It could well be the rear shock.
Any ideas what I should look at? What I should try to fix?
Thanks
J

Yeh, probably the rear shock...
Does the suspension feel funny when riding? too hard / soft?

Sorry mate, can't offer anything - just saw squeak and had to have a look. Dublin eh? I spent a year flatting in the ghetto of ballsbridge, joining the 2000 pint club at the schoolhouse tavern.......
Sorry for the brief-jack. Back to the thread.....
Do you get the same noise when you release the load on the bike?

Replying to all here:
Thanks for the quick replys folks.
Weasel:
I tightened up the front suspension a couple of weeks ago. But bar that, it feels normal. Perhaps a little soft, I havent gone near the rear preload yet.
Gamgee:
oh.. please let it be not :(
Squeak t R:Ghetto, yea right :) I know the school house, just work down the road from it.
As for the load release, a little, though its mostly on the compression.
Rear shock mate, they do it from time to time, mine did it before it pissed out oil though... and when I replaced it with a new one it did it till it 'wore in' as such. No new shocks so it was 2nd hand as such but had been sitting for a while. Put your finger on the chrome slider and see if there is oil on it - if so the seal has punctured. The rear shock is not rebuildable as such but people can do it for a price. Good luck!

There is not a helluva lot to move down there mate, i would pay attention to the shock. No chance that it is fairings rubbing on each other?
