Quick wof question

If the lever is nice and neat and looks like it's supposed to be that way you might get through,but if it's just a broken lever...no way.Just one mirror,either bar.

You just need one mirror.

A broken clutch lever is not a WoF matter unless the broken bit has sharp edges or something that could be hazardous.Or it was so broken that it might fall off.

A broken brake lever depends on whether the damage is such as to effect its efficacy- if it is broken at the half way point, it could be rejected on the grounds that you can't properly apply the brake cos the lever is too short and hard to use(I know that's not quite true, tell the WoF guy, not me). But if it is just the ball broken off the end , and no sharp edges etc, then that is OK. You don't actually have to have ball thingies on your lever ends. abroken perch etc , same, does it affect usability.

Wot he said. :yes: Having broken levers does not an automatically preclude your bike getting a WOF. Provided the levers are usable, then there should be no worries. It can be a pretty subjective thing though, it is up to the person carrying out the inspection on the day.

I'll take my bike in and ask the tester guy before I do the test :P there not sharp but the clutch is quite short, I might file them up and paint them say there custom... :D

Back when levers were very long people often used to shorten them,particualy for off road use.Then you could get short aftermarket levers to fit standard perches....2 finger brake,3 finger clutch.Now you bike comes standard with suitable levers,any breakage will leave them obviously short....depends on how the tester feels about them.

I got a WoF recently on my bike , the clutch lever is snapped at the end and it is vey obviously broken... much shorter than the brake lever and is missing the ball end. I guess it depends where you take it. I go to On Road napier...
