Well after waiting four very very long years for their new album all i can say is... well i dont really know what to say. It's completely different to what i thought it was going to be.

To anyone that liked their old stuff, trust me you will be in for a shock, however i'm sure you will like the new songs.

There is absolutely no doubt that they are a different band, and thats no lie, both in lineup and in the content of the songs, all of which you can tell have been written from the heart.

The new songs are filled with much, much more power than most songs I have heard recently, swinging from melodic tunes to heavy metal chorus'. It really has to be heard to be understood. For fans of the old album i would put most of the songs as a mix between Mind Dependancy, Plastic Shadow and Falldown.

One thing you will notice is the complete of any hip-hop feel whatsoever, mainly because of the fact they dropped the DJ they had for the previous album and have done their best to be unique and not stick with the 'nu-metal' genre they were branded with when they emerged (think linkin park/limp bizkit).

I know I am rather biased as they are my favourite band, and a lot of their material sort of relates to feeling i've had in the past, but i really think this is an awesome album. I'm sure people like Allun, and maybe even Magua will like it (I know indy wont!)

To put it in real simple terms, if you like the feelers, and you also like metal/heavy rock then this album will have you hooked. But like I said, if you liked their old stuff then you really need to put this CD on with an open mind as im 99% sure its not what you expect.

Well numbers and stats speak louder than words. After its first full week (debut) the album is at number one, out selling the Red Hot Chilli Peppers new album Stadium Arcadium.

This is also marks an NZ first as the band is the first to have it's first and second albums both debut at number one.

Guess that goes to show i have good taste in music then :nya:

I do indeed - although I like the ...what's the wording here......I like the...honesty....? of the songs more than the sound so much.

In a really weird way, there's a Scribe song called "Dreams" or "Dreaming" that hits me the same way. Honest and from the soul - even if the musical style doesn't really appeal to me.

Music is a wonderful thing - making it and listening to it has got me through some shit :doobey:

Yeah loved thier first album.
Scared they'd rush the 2nd one, but they didn't. Usually its the 'difficult 3rd album' that falls flat. (Talking of the Feelers)

This one, erm, well, gee I dunno. The single was launched ages ago & is oar-sum but sounds like it is from a different album.

It has been in the Van CD player over the weekend. Kinda like some of it, but. . .

Nah, dissappointed.

Bit like a chance discovery of The Mars Volta Deloused in the something or other (swapped for StAnger, now there was a crap album) & it was great, but then bought Francis the Mute. Erm, is this something they knocked up in their holidays?. . .

strange aint it, nu-metal died so fast, what...7 years maybe.
at first everybody thought it was great, then after everyone jumped on the bandwagon and cut out any solo's and just went for this gay talentless heavy guitar shit, with a DJ thrown in for good measure, lyrics were whiney (linkin park), and usually repeditive (choc star fsh)
i hated it from day one, im not surprised it didn't last long.
i aint heard their new stuff, does sound like they might have realised that nu-metal (just like nu-goth(the rasmus)) was just a media toy.:doobey:

They're a bit soft

And I hate how the guitarists are like punching the strings in their latest video. There's no control
