Just picked up the latest Bike (UK) magazine. It's got some good articles on throttle, braking and cornering and I'd recommend it for newbies and those looking to improve or refresh skills in this area.
I found the article describing the effect of throttle and brake on loading of the front suspension and it's relationship with loss of traction well written and easy to understand. A few other gems like,
Q: [for traction] is it better to go around a corner in a high gear or a low gear?
A: A high has more chance of spinning. But, in a lower gear you use more throttle so if it does spin then it's more likely to be uncontrollable.
Obviously not at every one's skill level, but worth a read if you've got the cash.....
