Just been informed at the bar there
was a serious motorbike accident on Pauhatanui Inlet (wellington) today, everyone thought it was me, but the bike was described as a Newish bike, Purple in colour with a tubular chassis (SV650/1000???), apparently the rider was not in a good condition when he was taken away.

All the best to the rider.

any info welcome????

I only know of one purple bike.... Cop B8's!

What bikes have tubular frames, other than Dukes?

Live in Whitby and have been through the inlet a few times today. Aint seen nothing and don't recognise the bike description either. I can hazzard a guess and say some myopic cage driver pulled out of Greys rd in front of a bike though.

Was at the corner at the end of the small straight half way round, (just before the tight 35km corner) about 130pm on Wednesday apparently???

You mean the short straight going towards Pauatahanui right before the esses. I think there's a small green shed there (or there used to be)???
What could have gone wrong there?
Cars like to cross the centreline a bit on that road...

Yuck. Not a nice sight going passed to see all the police accident paint marks on the road. Must have been reasonably serious for all the markings and you can see where the bike came to rest and leaked oil or petrol.
Hope the rider is OK.

Gidday MD, There must have been a biggie on the Cock friday night ? At the end of the straight not far in from the Hutt side. Took out a couple of poles and quite a bit of fence. Saw it early Sat morning as i obeyed the 80K limit !!!!!!!!!! Gaz..

I saw the "linesman for the county", doing some repairs on Sat morning. Maybe the culprit tried to take the corner too quickly after a mad sprint down the straight.

I was on my way to Manfeild at about 8.20am - I'm sure there was ice on some parts of the Hill road...:gob:

Yes, you've unmasked me. Im not limping so much nemore, getting psyked up to fix the bike too.
And in unrelated news, the paekak hill crash was 2 boy racer international students, going north side by side who didnt realise theres a corner @ the end of the straight. 1 of them hit the first pole and the line tension brought down the 2nd. :thud:

The wonderful talent of the international students we are allowing into the country, I mean really I didnt need to go to school to realise that paekak hill road had corners in it, and whilst racing someone down a narrow country road in the other lane it more than likely will end in tears, hopefully Darwins theory of natural elimination has come into play otherwise i'l be proud to say that my tax dollars are ensuring people like this stay on the road......unless hospitals can do what my old school do and charge the international students double or triple the fees. anyway rant over! and has anyone worked out who crashed on the inlet yet???
